I bought a stereo microscope a while ago and I’m adapting it to work with fluorescence where the sample is illuminated with ultra violet light which makes different materials in the sample glow with different visible light colours.Ultra violet light is hazardous to the eyes so I needed a shield to block it.This shield is meant for dental use but I shortened the handle and mounted it on a small hinge to go in front of the sample and block the ultra violet light.I realise that this isn’t how the manufacturers intended it to be used but it works well with my microscope.
