There are 2 sharp points sticking out of the handles and they can poke pretty sharply. But the scissors work so well I’d buy them again.

So we've had a pair of Kitchen Aid "kitchen" scissors for a couple years. Within a year of purchasing them, the plastic handle broke because it wasn't reinforced by steel all the way through the finger loops. We plodded along with these "fragile" scissors way too long. However... these Kitchen Scissors really ARE heavy duty. They feel solid in your hand and do great with cutting everything from baked pizza, cutting raw carrots, cutting up celery, etc. A very handy tool to have in the kitchen. Highly recommend.
