Low Battery Indication
The TS-501A sound level meter has a low battery reminder function to know when the battery needs to be replaced.
Date Hold Function
The TS-501A spl meter has a data hold function that can freeze readings.
Fast/Slow Time Weighted
Fast weighting(125 ms) is approximate to the ears’ time response.
Slow weighting(1 s) is used to indicate the average level of fluctuating noise.
Max/Min Measurement
The TS-501A decibel meter can record the maximum and minimum values of sound over a period of time.

First let's get the - out of the way, the microphone cover(which is a BIG+)clips are Too tight &have sharp square edges,making it very hard to remove without damaging the foam Mic windscreen.(I smoothed/filed mine problem solved)That said this meter does everything claimed in the manual & that's A LOT! Measure's Sound decibels,fast/slow sample rate, temperature,relative humidity,has data hold,has a backlight that stays on when needed,low batt indicator & auto shutdown, seems to me they got it all just about RIGHT!Oh,it also comes w/Duracell batteries & a carry sack.With some home testing I think the accuracy is as claimed by TOPTES.A stocking stuffer for early holiday shoppers at a Great price & Amazon delivered!

I use this for measuring downtown noise late night before calling police about local bar. Very easy to use and does the job. Within 5 min I was able to operate it with no issue. Good value for the money. Easily fits in pocket. Just be careful removing cover as the microphone sponge may stick inside the cover, do be careful not to lose it

Perfect fit for the application I had for it which is testing audio bleed outside of the venue. Easy to use, only takes me a minute to train a staff member to use it. Instructions are clear. Sturdy (its already been dropped a few times).

It would be nice if it had A, B and C weighted dB. For A weighted, it seems OK and relatively accurate. Plastic seems cheap and no metal parts.

We live in a flight path and have been using this to monitor the sound of airplanes flying overhead. I trust that the device is working properly, but I have nothing to compare it to, so I have no idea if it's accurate or not.
