This seems to work fine, I don't have any other equipment to test this against to compare it's accuracy, but number goes up when volume does and vice verca. The numbers are about what I would expect based on what I see online so for occasional use I think this would be just fine

I wanted a sound meter to monitor airplane noise. The meter was able to log data accurately without breaking the bank.

I love the real-time graphing functionality of this meter. It really helps to visualize the relative loudness of different sounds and changes over distance and time. Build quality is solid and the interface is easy to use.My only complaint is I can't figure out how to export a saved log from the device. If I want to keep a record of a session I have to have the meter connected to a computer.

This Decibel Meter with Data Logger is a great tool for measuring sound levels in various environments, from workplaces to home studios. Its ability to store up to 43,000 data points makes it particularly valuable for long-term monitoring and analysis. The device has a clear digital display with real-time sound level readings with live graphing, making it easy to track fluctuations and levels. It has a wide decibel range for diverse applications. The built-in data logging functionality is straightforward, allowing you to record and review historical sound data—a handy feature for professional noise assessment. This data can be downloaded to a computer using a USB cable and their application. The unit has non-slip grips on the sides and the buttons are big and responsive for use wearing gloves. The interface is user-friendly, even for beginners, with intuitive controls for starting, stopping, and reviewing recordings. The PC software is provided for transferring and analyzing logged data is a bit basic, but gets the job done. It has the ability to control the device from the app and review the data. The captured data shows up in a column, which is very useful. The device works while it is being charged. The manufacturer states that the device is calibrated before shipping and they sell a calibration tool, but no certificate of calibration. They also recommend calibration every year if data accuracy is required.Bottom Line: The Decibel Meter with Data Logger is an excellent tool for those needing accurate sound measurements and data tracking of the results. It delivers solid performance and great value for its intended purpose. I recommend it!

This came up on Vine and I chose it. I have several gas powered machines like a sawmill and several woodworking machines that make a bit of noise. Was wondering how much noise they actually produce. It is easy to use. I tend to use hearing protection more often now that I know actual decible levels.

Obligatory I'm not a professional statement but I'm building my mancave and I'm trying to get everything "just right" and wanted this to help me figure out how to best address acoustic noise. This seems more prosumer than I expected. I was looking for a basic tool to give me a baseline db level at a specific point and then let me make changes and see if it goes up or down. This tool does that and just so much more. The tools easy enough to use that you can pick it up and get those easy db readings but the instructions offer a treasure trove of features at your fingertips if you're willing to read. I think what impressed me the most is this device is able to be calibrated that's generally a sign that a measuring tool is beyond the "entry level" market.I appreciate that the device is rechargeable instead of requiring batteries (though I always worry about how that will affect the longevity of the product in exchange for convenience). The included usb-c cable was "beefy" as opposed to those thin cheap ones manufacturers use to save pennies. The device fit on my camera tripod with no issue using the threaded socket in the back. The only real criticism I could come up with is I have to find a nice bag or box to store it in as the included box doesn't fit the device one you put the foam cap on the end.Out of the box this is a fantastic tool to get comparisons. I found out by turning my PC about 30 degrees clockwise that it lowered the sound by almost 3db where I was seated. This is exactly what I got it for and it works great! The only caveat I have is though it says it ships "calibrated" before you go and start using this as a precise instrument stating the exact db on the readings you should probably calibrate it yourself. The instructions suggest doing it once a year anyway so it's not a bad idea to familiarize yourself with that process when you get it if you're going to use it "properly"Bottom line: This is a prosumer tool and if you find yourself needing a db meter honestly this is fantastic choice feature packed and easy to use!

I've got other dB meters but I really like the datalogging feature of this one, including a real time graph. I think it is much more useful for giving an idea of the range of loudness compared to my other meters. The instruction manual is small, but legible and pretty straightforward. This is one of the few low cost meters I have that is calibrarable if you have a standard audio source for meter calibration (definitely not something I have lying around the house, but they are a standard item for the industry). One minor downside is that it is a bit too easy to turn on the meter. It was on when I opened it and the battery charge was almost drained, having turned on some time before I got it. Not a huge deal, but you do need to keep the on button from being depressed when transporting it.I don't know how accurate this is, though, since I don't have a traceable meter to compare it to. I also do wish it sampled at a bit higher rate to give a smoother data log graph. Even so, I'm still happy with this meter.
