Upon opening this product, it was clear that it was made a very thick in quality plastic. Picking it up I am pleasantly surprised, how thick and heavy it is. This product is made of clear strong acrylic and will stand up to decades of wear and tear. With multiple holes, you can trace out bowls of any dimension with ease. The center finder is bright and easy to use on any blank. I would recommend the two sizes for maximum variability in size and function. The product arrived very fast and it is apparent This company takes pride in it’s quality. Customer service is very responsive and helpful.I would highly recommend this product to anybody Who loves turning!!!!!

Accuracy is usually the most important feature when buying any measurement tool. Unfortunately, these calipers are not very accurate. When they are fully closed, there is a small gap between the tips of the largest jaws. I estimate the gap to be about 1/32" (0.8 mm). To be precise, every measurement needs to be adjusted by this amount. I'm surprised the manufacturer allowed these calipers to leave the factory with this deficiency. However, my woodturnings rarely need to be that precise. The vast majority of the time I simply take a measurement, then eyeball the measured wall thickness. Consequently, the inaccuracy of these calipers is not much of an issue in practice. The calipers are made of a fairly thick, polished stainless steel. Except for the inaccuracy, they look and function very well.

I was pleasantly surprised by the thickness of this circle gauge. It is 5mm or about 3/8” thick and very stiff. The clear acrylic is etched so the markings won’t wear off. Sometimes you need a perfect circle and this tool will give you that with ease. The holes at each radial distance are large enough to accommodate most any pen or sharp pencil. Just use a small nail or thumb tack to anchor the center hole and draw the circle of the desired radius.

What it is: 200mm and 300mm in diameter clear acrylic metric circle marking gauges. Features etched measurements for degrees and circle diameters, as well as marking holes for diameter and center. Why I like it: These gauges are great for centering and laying out projects on wood blanks for turning, or for other diy woodworking and metalworking. The only improvement I would consider would be to include both English and metric measurements. The etched graphics are clear, and having both sizes of gauges available will work for several sizes of wood blanks. Overall, a very good set of metric circle gauges.

These double-ended calipers are made of approximately 2 mm thick stainless steel. There is a brass screw near the midway point. The thumbscrews—one on either side—have ridges along the edges, making it easier for my thumb and index finger to get a good grip when tightening or loosening them. The thumbscrews are about 18 mm in diameter. While I can’t completely prevent movement by hand-tightening the screws, I can get them fairly tight. The measurement scale for the inside calipers is only in metric, and it seems to be off by about 2 mm. I discovered this by using my digital calipers to compare the scale markings with the actual distance between the inside caliper legs.Since these calipers are made from two flat pieces of stainless steel, the outside caliper tips do not naturally touch. When I bring the outside caliper tips together, the inside caliper tips remain about 28.18 mm apart. Therefore, to get an accurate inside measurement using the outside calipers, I have to add 28.18 mm.Overall, they are sturdy and long at 17 1/8”, but a few improvements could be made.

I intended to use this for hollow turning and liked the idea of there being a lower profile side for narrow necks. I was not expecting that the two ends would not show the same "spread" at all times. At zero the ends meet but the further open they are the more difference in the gap. The pivot point is not in the middle! Not what I wanted.Well made.

Very happy with this tool. It seems to be made of decent quality stainless steel that is fairly thick. The knurling on the brass thumbscrew is very well done as well. I also appreciate that there is a depth gauge printed on the lower half of the calipers as well. I'm sure some folks will be triggered that it only has metric graduations on it, but it certainly better than none at all. Overall this is a well made tool that works great, is easy to use, and is reasonably priced. Not sure what more one could want. Definitely recommend!

When it's closed , " zero'd " , the inside measuring pointies are 28 mm tip to tip , so you need to add that on the outside end measurement .Why 28 mm I have no Idea .My calculator tells me that is 1-7/64" , so not any help there .It doesn't look like it was hand-tuned with a grinder so they may all be like that .Good rigidity and the nut tightens down for plenty of resistance to accidental movement .I guess I just need to practice adding that 28 , haha .I'd have to remove too much material from either end to get it down to an easy 20 mm -- might as well stay with the 28 .I very much like the profile as it is .
