The play set in the box has lots of small piece and requires assembly. The age range is listed as 3-8, so it requires adult assembly unless you have an advanced older child. If you can assemble IKEA furniture, you can assemble this set. The pieces stay together well after assembly (snap fit). It is not intended to come back apart.Both the fire station and vehicles are lightly built, which is not unreasonable given the price point ($26.40 at time of review 6/2025). If you have a rambunctious child it will all likely be destroyed pretty quickly. However, when used as intended, the set is sturdy enough to last for a long time (just don’t step on it/fall on it, or pick it up and throw it). I love toys like this without a media tie-in because they allow open ended unscripted play. I recommend this purchase.
