Used this before hunting whitetails in a stand. Over the course of several days, deer moved around me without being spooked by my scent. Yes, there are many factors that lead into successfully hunting whitetails, but I view this product as one of the many things/tactics I leverage to be successful.

I've been hunting for a few years but never used scent control shampoo. I decided to try it this year and I'm sold. It doesn't have a scent, and it seems to use some kind of film to cover you. It felt a bit weird but it did the job for me. I had two deer walk right up to the base of my tree before they smelled me. Only one got away, the other is now in my freezer.

I bought two of these because this is the soap I use regularly and the large pump bottle somehow skyrocketed to over $20 at its lowest price when I went to repurchase it. This seems to happen every time I buy soap on Amazon of any brand or nature. I guess it's just bad luck. I received these, and as soon as I took them out of the box, I realized they were covered in soap. I know this happens often when shipping liquids, but it's still disappointing because it means wasted product and a mess. Thankfully it didn't spill too much and there wasn't a visible mess in the box, it was just on the bottles. This soap is unscented, but does smell a little weird in the shower, but that's par for the course for any of DDW's soaps, solid or liquid. But it does what it says--it's both a shampoo and a body wash and it gets me clean and serves as a good blank canvas for my scented products. I use two soaps with two different scrubbers--a scented soap with a homemade soap saver, and this soap with a "silicone" (probably actually latex, at least partially) scrub brush. I use this soap and the scrub brush first, then follow up with the scented soap on the soap saver. This doesn't leave a smell on the "silicone" brush, which is actually my second one because the first one absorbed and mutated the scent of the soap I was using with it into a disgusting scent and I couldn't get it out no matter how hard I tried and I ended up throwing the brush out and buying another. This soap doesn't leave a scent on the "silicone" brush I have now, but when I made the mistake of putting the scrub brush against my scented soap for a day, it absorbed the smell like a sponge, but this seemed to take care of that. Can't say how it works for hunting though as I don't hunt, but as someone who walks most of the places they need to go in a hot climate, paired with a good deodorant it does help cut down on odors, especially if I don't follow up with the scented soap when I shower beforehand. I also have the DDW bathing wipes with the re-closable package and some of this body wash/shampoo combo decanted into a travel bottle to keep in my backpack. Still wish this brand would make a shampoo bar, as they're useful in many ways, more so than regular solid soap, and don't spill like liquid soap.

As a pregnant woman who gets so nauseas with any kind of perfume or scent, I had to find a shampoo that didn't make me sick. For the first 4 months of pregnancy, this is the only kind of shampoo I could use! It takes the oil and any smell out of my hair without replacing it with overwhelming perfume that is found in all other normal shampoos. So even though I'm not using this for its intended purpose (hunting) it really works perfectly for my situation and I would highly recommend it for anyone who is sensitive to strong smells in shampoo, but still wants a shampoo that cleans well.
