Installed in my 03 Impala LS while replacing the radiator. The torque struts are not really motor mounts although they are frequently referred to as that: the mounts are below the motor on the GM W-body motors, whereas the torque struts on top help isolate the motor to reduce vibrations. If you can move the top of your motor an inch or so pretty easily by hand (or get a "thunk" when putting the transmission into gear) these are likely worn out by time and pressure. The metal torque strut does not really wear out. I used a box cutter to nip off the lip on one side and they push right out. To install I found it easiest to lightly lube one outer lip and fold/bend it outward into the opening and push it through.
