So I'm a dog groomer and I've used nature's chemistry deflea products for years. It's the only flea product that's safe to use on puppies under 16 weeks old. The bedding and area spray can be used directly on the dog. The product kills fleas immediately in contact. It is not safe for cats. It's a product when used correctly, is effective and safe. HOWEVER.... THIS IS NOT NATURES CHEMISTRY. I've never even heard of this brand. This product does work the same as nature's chemistry but it's wrong to sell a completely different band under a trusted brand name. Also, the bottle was open and leaking when it arrived. Annnnnd.... It drips so much from the nozzle when you spray it.

Few products have as much controversy around them as this stuff. So I tried it, and I can tell you this product WORKS. Our dog has fleas for the FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE and my wife is FREAKING OUT. We used the shampoo first, and fleas were being killed right and left. Unfortunately, the fleas came back (argh) so we are using a different approach… daily combings and local extermination. We bought the spray for spot treatment, and here's what we do:1. Buy a flea comb.2. Comb his or her coat going slowly and methodically using a flashlight to see inspect what the comb finds while it is still on his / her coat.3. Fleas will either be on the top or in the middle of the comb. You don't have long before they will jump off or run away, so SPRAY IMMEDIATELY ONTO THE COMB AND COAT THE FLEA. Each time you finish a pass, check the "jail cell" of the comb (between the two rows) and see if there are any fleas trapped in there. They re less likely to get out and we just spray the entire comb, wait 30 seconds, then clear out the cadaver with a thin piece of cardboard.4. Again… you need to act fast, and once the flea is coated, he's doomed. But they are really clever little buggers who will simply leap to freedom if you don't act fast, so we do this with two people… one combing, while the other holds the flashlight in one hand and the spray in the other.I called the company and they told me what is in the product. Apparently there are two food grade compounds. Both are found in over the counter drugs that are used as laxatives and something else which is an acid compound… I think as a stool softener? I can't remember. But apparently you can drink a cup of this stuff and you'll have stomach cramps and really really bad diarrhea. That's safe enough for me to feel comfortable using it on my dog's coat, and our dog is FAMILY.Basically, the first compound soaks the flea and causes his or her incredibly hard shell to soften. Damn things have armor!!!! Then the second compound, the acid, basically fries the little bastards, which, to be completely honest, thrills me no end. Call me sick, but there is nothing more enjoyable to see these nasty blood sucking buggers take a bath in this stuff and die. They are eating my dog and sucking its blood, and I owe them no mercy. Hopefully I won't go to hell for that, but I really despise these things, and if you've ever been infested, I know you agree. Victory!!!!Here are the caveats, and I wish you cat owners out there would learn how to read. This stuff has an acid in it that WILL DRY OUT THE COAT if used more than once every three days. So don't spray the entire coat on a regular basis… no more often than once every three days. AND… cats LICK their coats, and since the compound causes uncontrollable laxative effects that could KILL YOUR CAT you must NOT use this on cats. Read the damn label people. Not for cats. Feline NIX!. Nicht fur den Meow meow. Its NOT for use on cats, and DON'T let your dogs drink or lick this stuff either. You shouldn't drink it either unless you like going to the bathroom and are looking for a terrible excuse to miss work. Its a strong laxative. Don't drink it. Not for kitties. Okay? What I haven't figured out is how to get the fleas out of our carpet. I've tried the little flea traps with the night light. Those work too! But how long do we have to have those things in our bedroom? I'm trying DE next… I'll review the product when I get it.

Pros:- It works as stated. I spray this on my medium size dog every three days. I did not have any reoccurring flea and tick breakout. I have been using this spray for many weeks this summer.- This spray is less toxic compared to other flea sprays.- This spray can handle both fleas and their eggs. I found not all sprays can handle flea eggs.- The price and amount is reasonable compared to other sprays.Cons:- Not for CatsDetails:I brought this flea and tick spray because my dog had a flea and tick infestation this summer. I like the fact that this spray was less toxic compared to a lot of other flea and tick sprays. I don't see how we can be spraying a flea spray on our pets if it is that toxic. It would be poisonous for both the owner and the pet. Reading the labels on some of these sprays I found to be scary because it sounds so toxic.

As a previous reviewer stated, when fleas have taken a foothold in your home you MUST attack the problem in 2 ways: 1)treat the home! Fleas live in yards, carpets, upholstery, and in crevices in and around wood floors. They jump on pets and humans to feed only, they live in your home. To treat your yard: Use amorphous diatomaceous earth or long lasting chemical spray. To treat carpeted areas: If heavily infested spray first with Hartz Ultraguard, this stops eggs, larvae and pupae from reaching the adult flea stage, but doesn't kill adults. Then treat with Fleabusters Rx powder. This natural powder dries out the climate in the carpet, fleas love moisture. This kills all eggs, larvae, pupae and adults, and when new fleas hitch a ride inside the home via pet or human feet, they die later. This powder takes 1-2 weeks to fully work, hence the need for spraying first. Use this powder under couch cushions, mattresses etc. and in hardwood floor crevices. Works for 1+ years!2) treat your pets and the areas they sleep in. This spray is good, not too toxic and kills fleas on contact. Flea baths do work OK, but understand that the flea soap must be in contact with skin for 10 MINUTES to kill fleas, otherwise it just knocks them out and they spring back to life later. Trust me on this, I used to be a professional groomer. This spray kills them instantly, but for cats you MUST rinse it off afterward even though the directions do not say so. I used it on my cats, it worked well, but gets very thick and foamy in the coat. As cat owners know, a cat will lick itself from head to toe after a bath or getting wet, my cat got a lick of this stuff and spit up a bit of white foam. Use common sense and RINSE IT OFF OF CATS!!!Then spray their cat beds and the other areas where they sleep after machine washing. I like this spray because it doesn't smell of harsh chemicals. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you use Fleabuster Rx powder every fall you won't have a problem come summertime. I got lazy this year and I'm paying the price by aggressively treating all areas of my home and pets.
