I opened the white pen and made a mark on navy a blue fabric swatch. The swatch was 8 inches long. I let the fabric sit for a few hours and wet a spot to be sure the marks would wash out. I went to use the pen to mark quilt stitch lines and it would not mark. It was dryed up. The blue pen was the same way. I am disappointed in the pens.

ADDED TO EARLIER POSTAs soon as I opened the lid, the awful smell of alcohol or something nasty that gave me a horrible headache. Went to get a piece of the peppermint candy hubby and I made to get the smell out.As for a marker, when you use it looks nice and vivid. But a couple of minutes it has faded. I had to go over it, moving it slowly so the markers color would show stay, it would fade a little but I could still see it.I am finished with them! I threw them away! they run out quickly, they stink, they lose color within a week unless you color the lines several times, which causes it run out of the color much faster.I am going to look for something better, cost will probably be higher but it will be worth it.It does wash out good so I don't have to worry about the color being on the material.Would I recommend it, no, the smell is horrible, although some others might not notice it. The fading is to me a big minus as I have to use it twice, which to means more usage so more for the cost of the money.Personal opinion, so read all the reviews to get more opinions.ADDING TO IT The marking ink does not last long. I have used the purple and blue and both within two days they stopped marking them. I had been using it to make lines for using the pinking shears and small marks for the adding the border around the blocks. I had used it for 10 blocks and now they have run out of the "ink".My opinion, NOT worth buying.

The purple pen disappears in a few minutes. Not helpful.The dark blue pen does NOT wash out. The white pen doesn't work. No wonder the oeuvre is so low

I just used one of the pens today. It really works. I tried it on a test piece of fabric. Dabbed a little bit of water on the mark. Viola - mark gone. The pens are easy to use. They mark smoothly. Colors are good and should work with most fabrics. I will buy again.

Gotta say, I was uber skeptical. But these pens even worked on colored felt including the white pen on black and brown and other dark colors of felt. You must let it dry completely to see it's full effect. Sometimes the darker pen colors sort of soak into the lighter or medium tone felt but I am still able to see the lines. I am making a felted project for Christmas without a pattern and I need to copy drawn pieces. With these pens I can cut and stitch over these lines and erase the lines with water like magic.

Tried to use on my sewing project and they didn’t work. The white was dried up and I was so frustrated with the other colors, I promptly threw them all in the trash. Will never buy any of these again. I will stick to tailors chalk

I read several reviews that were critical of the pens. I ordered them anyway because my in-person shopping options were limited. I found the pens worked much better than any other product I’ve tried. I used the white pen on dark green and brown fabrics. The “ink” goes on clear, but becomes visible in a few seconds. It worked well for both tracing a stencil and for freehand marking. I wash my quilts when I finish and the “ink” was removed completely when the quilt came out of the washer. I noted some other users mentioned that the “ink” dried out quickly. The caps close tightly, but not completely until enough pressure is applied to generate an audible click. I didn’t have any problems with the “ink” drying out, but my project was small, lap quilt size, and didn’t require a huge amount of marking. I’m very satisfied with the product and would buy it again.
