Used this audio mic/amplifier module in an outdoor audio setup at my gate on my driveway. Works surprisingly well. Bought two in case one croaks in the future.

The potentiometer controls the DC offset for some reason, it does NOT control gain.The gain is not high enough to pick up noise from more than 20 inches away.

I am trying many different pre-amp boards in building communications desk microphones. These boards gave exceptionally good audio using the on-board mic element and also when replacing that element with another. The trimmer helps control the audio gain which is a must when connecting a mic to a radio transmitter. I will probably order more to keep in my shop for build amplified microphones for various brands of radios. I can recommend these without hesitation.
