Very handy vs using a computer or phone. Area is so vast a map works much better. Go see the unexplored side of Zion to the North west.

We love these maps and have used several. The recommendations align with our skill set/physical abilities and are easy to apply at the park. I like to make notes on these waterproof maps with fine point Sharpies when planning our hikes.

I love these maps that Jake does. They are easy to read. The description matches the terrain. You know before you go. We have used them for Glacier, Yosemite and now Zions. He knows his stuff.

This map is an excellent hiking map. It rates all of the hikes by any different factors, including the beauty of the trail, the crowds, etc. I also like the way they are categorized by the number of miles. I wish there was one for every national park.

Easy to use/follow, good descriptions of the different trails. The trails are color coded by area, ranked, and described in detail. I've used the Glacier National Park and Zion maps, was so bummed when I couldn't find one for the Grand Canyon. Material is durable and folds up well.

This was a great companion to my visit to Zion. I really liked the suggestions and trail ratings. My only complaint, is that I wish it would have shown more detail for each particular trail, on the map, such as a detailed trail map. It would have also been nice to have specific directions to each trailhead. I had to hunt around for a couple of them. Simply stating something like "leave from Zion Lodge" is not always clear. I had to hunt down 2 trailheads using the park map.I did enjoy the list of suggested trails by priority from best to worst and the overall descriptions.

This is great map of Zion NP if you're looking for a colored map with detailed description of day hikes and longer. This is an essential tool if you need to decide how long and how hard you want to go. I use this along with the Lonely Planet guide book for Zion as well. Both map and book are really the only thing you need to plan a trip to Zion. The internet has great resources but the map you can carry around with you if you show up at a trail head and find it packed with people or closed. I also like that the map is printed on waterproof paper and waterproof ink. Good luck if your home printed maps get wet in the Narrows! If you're looking for a detailed topo map, I prefer the Tom Harrison maps or good old USGS maps you can print for free online. I also own a GPS, but the maps are fun and allow you to look at a very large area instead of a 4" screen. A good time to practice up on map reading skills if you're unfamiliar with them.
