Poor quality if used for the bodyshop industry did not last no more then 2 weeks. Great for diy projects if going to use once in awhile

I purchased this dryer to dry paint and it worked pretty good for about a couple of weeks ( not consecutive but spread out )and then stopped working for me. I contacted the seller and since it was out of warranty they could not replace it but did offer a discount to purchase a new one.

I own a vehicle wrap shop and we use a 48” wide IR lamp to evenly heat vinyl across large curves or areas where a lot of stretching the vinyl evenly is required. We purchased this hand held IR lamp to be able to focus the heat in a more precise area like smaller deep recessed areas. This lamp works perfect. It heats quickly even though it has a higher temp rating. We’ve used it and had to leave it on for up to 30 or 45 minutes at a time and have had no issues with it whatsoever. When we were looking to purchase a hand held IR lamp, there were several at the same rating that were double the price. I cant imagine what the other lamps could offer that would justify spending that much more money when this lamp is perfect the way it is. The only issue I can even say is that I wish I had bought more than one so my guys aren’t fighting over it all the time.

This lamp puts out plenty of heat very quickly. The handle keeps you away from the heat, but you really need to be careful where you put this down when you're done - it stays hot a while! It definitely will cure paint, possibly a little too much too fast. You have to keep moving and mind your distance, but some form of thermostat would be a nice addition. I plan to use this to speed curing of lacquer, I'm sure I'll learn the hard way how much heat is too much!

Update:It got too hot and the wires melted shorting out on the metal body. Replacement was 3 months off so I had to repair it myself. Puts out a ton of heat and seems well made. Very happy!
