This crab gauge is awesome. Doesn't feel cheap and it's made out of some type of metal. You throw this thing and it won't break. Also the writing is good too. Some other products just use like markers or something along that line; however, this product engraves the marking so if it fade, you can still see the hash marks and the numbers.

Lightweight with better precision measurements than plastic varieties. Contrasting white lettering is easy enough to read. I like the small hole in the upper right corner, which I use to attach a 2" bobber with a swivel and/or short cord - easy to drop one of these in the drink, a 2" bobber provides enough floatation to save the day. There "legs" are also a bit longer than some other gauges, especially when using it to measure 5 3/4", which makes it easier/quicker to use. Worth a few extra bucks compared to the plastic varieties.

I love this GAUGE. Used for my clamming and rock crab at bay area. I like the color and material. Although made of metal, It's very light, and love the white characters on the blue background, it's clearer to look. But also has various specifications, multiple purposes, convenience and practicality.

I already had a red one and it’s great to be able to use the gauge on crabs and clams. Just wish one side had the 5” like the other side at 6.25”. Had to 3D print one out, but having a metal one would be great.
