Ordered both HOT and COLD stems. They are working now but had to replace the o-rings. Ones included must have been a smidge undersized leaking pretty bad. Picked up a pack of #45 (3/8" ID, 9/16" OD) locally, lubed with plumbers grease and function fine now. Poor quality control from DANCO.

It leaks water passed the O ring when the valve is open, more than the 40 year stem that I was replacing. It is obvious that the shaft has too much movement, much more than the original stem and much more than an O ring can handle. True for both hot and cold. Item is not returnable and Danco has been unresponsive so far. After reading the reviews again it seems the quality was very good at one time but not recently.Since nobody else seems to make this stem besides Danco, it looks like I will have to rebuild the 40 year stem by replacing the O ring. Not a happy DIY plumber.

I don't know what's going on with this stem, but the turning mechanism is extremely loose (thread tolerances are very loose), to the point where you can shake it around inside of the threads when it's opened (allowing the water to flow). It's an exact fit for my laundry tub faucet, which is great, but it still doesn't work properly. I didn't think this would be a huge issue until I actually started to use the faucet, but due to how loose the threading is, the water pressure coming down the pipe (just a basic 1/2" copper hot water pipe) easily opens the handle itself! This means that when you only have the water running a little bit.. the pressure will slowly open the handle until it's completely open. I am getting a cold stem today to replace the other side, and I will see if that one is similar. If that stem is just as loose, then I will know it's not a defect, but if it's not, the stem I got is defective in that the threading is much, much too loose for it to function.Another (less important) issue is that the threading is actually closer together (not sure what the correct term for this is), so the handle has to be turned much more than the old stem. The old stem was a bit more than a quarter turn from fully closed to open, while this one will easily turn almost 240 degrees. I honestly don't think this is the way it's supposed to function.Edit: Updating my review to three stars because I believe my sink is partially at fault here. The plungers in these stems measure approximately 14.5mm in diameter, which appears to be equal to the diameter of the stems I'm replacing. They *should* be an exact fit/match. The only difference between these new stems and the old stems is how loose they are in the threads, but I cannot confirm that the old stems were not loose when new because they are 50-60 years old, quite corroded, and do not turn easily at all.I did order a different set of stems and handles (Danco 39674E), which have a 15mm (only 0.5mm larger) plunger. I assumed this may work better because the plunger would be more "flush" against the walls of the faucet, but that was not the case. It appears that 15mm is too large, and the stems would not turn once inside of the sink. So was 14.5mm too small? No, I don't think so. I think it was correct, so these stems are simply too loose to function properly. As for why, I'm not entirely sure, but I think it could be a combination of the fit not being *exactly* correct, and the pressure itself. 15mm may be too large, while 14.5mm may actually be too small. If I had to guess why this is the case, I would say it's probably due to the handle being opened/closed, boring out the hole inside of the faucet just slightly enough that the tolerances inside of the faucet are too loose for a new stem to function properly.. maybe. Also, as I said before, there is a lot of water pressure coming through this laundry tub sink. It's an old Central Brass style one. The water moves on a downward trajectory into the sink, and it flows almost like a bathtub. I believe this may contribute to the stems opening on their own, but I don't think this is the entire reason. If these stems had tighter threading (lower tolerances), they would honestly have worked fine, but they do not.Needless to say I did not have luck with either set, and had to send both sets back. The cheap solution, a $25 set of stems and handles, does not appear to be an option at this point, so I caved and ordered the $48 Central Brass 0465 laundry tub faucet, and have to replace the entire faucet. If you're like me and you're trying to save $20 by replacing these old stems on a very old faucet, I would suggest just replacing the sink instead. I cannot even find new handles for these 12 point/spline stems. I instead had to buy the vise-grip style handles, which have a very janky fit, and look awful. Not that looks really matter in a laundry tub, but.. yeah, just replace the whole thing, you'll be better off, and you won't have to spend hours fiddling around with different parts only to find out that nothing is *really* an exact fit on a 60 year old brass laundry faucet.

Not enough size information was provided. Stem was too long, but seat and rubber washer worked.
