This little black beveled rubber washer, probably too pricey for what you think it should cost, but needed if you are changing hot water heater fittings and reusing the old copper flex lines ...

While replacing a water heater I thought I would try to replace the washer on the flex line where itconects to the water heater. It almost worked, however i had a very slight leak that I could not eliminate. Upon closer inspection of the old connection, I could see some corrosion which was causing the tiny leak. As a reult I went ahead and replaced the flex line Again nothing wrong with this product, but just look closely at your connectors for any sign of corrosion.

If you don't want to sweat a new supply line and your old washers crumbled when you removed the old heater, these are your answer. The double bevel fits perfectly. I initially tried a standard flat washer and regardless of the amount of pipe dope I used or how tight I cranked down on the fitting, I had a very slow but persistent leak. Installed these and with only moderate tightening of the supply line, everything worked as good as new.

Check your old washer first.. even if that's just finding a picture of it online.Does not fit Everbilt 3/4 x 3/4" FIP Braided stainless steel water supply line. I damaged my washer and needed a new one. Instead of grabbing one from the big box store near me I just clicked for this one. It does not fit. With this washer crammed in there is no thread left. I needed a flat washer, which was $2 for 2 and works correctly. This does not, but I wish it did because it seems like it would be a fantastic washer.

These washers are the correct/appropriate washers needed for installing/replacing the dip-tube in your water-heater.This washer is intended/used to seal water heater under flared end of dip-tube when supply line pipe nipple is installed and tightened down. For some reason, this washer was difficult to find at any local hardware store.Unless you're a plumber or in the trade, anytime your water-heater starts to fail, the average owner may not be aware that a dip-tube replacementis all that is needed. Unless of course heater is leaking. Was very pleased to find seller who offered a packet of more than one, at a great price. This water supply line washer is not intended for use with garden hoses.Garden hose washers are a different intended design.
