I am an amateur extra licensed ham but I also have my gmrs license. I have a MARS modded IC 2730a that have been running with two different antennas. One tuned for ham 2m, 70cm and one tuned for gmrs. I was having to disconnect and reconnect coax all the time so I ordered this switch to solve that problem. I built a short jumper to the radio and screwed in the two antenna coax. It couldn’t have been an easier install.Overall this switch is a great value. It has a palpable click when switching between antennas. This will make the weekly NET I run on gmrs easier and it won’t wear out my connectors. I would recommend this switch if you are in the market one.

I’ve been very pleased with my Daiwa antenna switch. I have it setup to switch my one HF antenna between two transceivers, each capable of transmitting 110w output. The construction and switching action of this switch seems to be top notch. My antenna is resonant on 40m and easily matched on most bands 10m to 80m. No issues at all getting 1:1 matches through this switch.I expect this switch will last as long as I do.

I USED A FOUR-POSITION SWITCH FROM ALPHA DELTA FOR YEARS. IT BEGAN TO GIVE ME PROBLEMS UNTIL IT FINALLY GAVE OUT. WILL NOT RECOMMEND ALPHA DELTA ANYMORE.NOW, WITH THIS SWITCH I KNOW I HAVE PAID A BIT MORE FOR IT BUT IT IS WELL WORTH IT. FOR HAM OPERATORS LIKE ME THIS IS THE WAY TO GO.

I am a ham radio operator and have a long wire antenna in my back yard. It works great with my ham radio. I bought this to switch the antenna to my very old Heathkit "Most Accurate Clock". The clock no longer resets to the correct time with just a little antenna, it needed a stronger signal. At first I would swap the PL259 antenna connectors manually. During the day the big antenna went to the ham radio, overnight I put the big antenna to the clock. I got tired of moving the connectors. So I use this switch, one click - antenna moved..NOTE: if doing this with a transmitter such as my ham radio, BE SURE to have the antenna switched to the radio, I do this prior to even powering up my ham radio..The switch has been in use for several weeks and the click to switch feels positive and has never failed. It's a quality device from a brand that I have used for decades without ever getting a dud.

I've owned several coax switches since becoming a radio amateur operator in 1974. I bought my first Daiwa switches several years ago and I have been pleased with their heavy construction and dependable operation. The first Daiwa two position switch is still in service working with a Daiwa four position switch (see attached picture). The four position switch selects the radio (two HF radios, including one with a VHF coax connector, and one VHF mobile) and the two position switch selects the antenna (the outside position is controlled by a five position Ameritron antenna selector and an inside two meter magnet mount antenna. The inside two meter antenna is almost exclusively used as a dummy load in case I inadvertently transmit when the outside HF/VHF antennas are off line. In case of thunder storms, I still physically disconnect the outside coax. I live on the Cumberland Plateau in east central Tennessee, which is characterized by unusually violent thunder storms. I routinely run a 180 watt VHF amplifier and 600 watt HF amplifier, both well within the capabilities of the switches. The second Daiwa two position switch was purchased for another room to switch an indoor multiband antenna with an outside VHF/UHF antenna. It precludes me from having to disconnect the coax when the radio is not in use. Again, I normally disconnect the outside coax at the connector during lightning storms. I have followed this practice for decades and have yet to loose a radio due to a lightning strike.

I am happy with this antenna switch but the one thing I wish I could do better is when the switch is in the center (off)position there should be more of a detent. I find when the switch is in the center position it is very easy to go to antenna 1 or 2 with a slight bump of the knob. Not a big deal but I guess I'm used to my trusty Alpha Delta switch style.A very good switch for the price none the less.Four stars for this slight oversight.
