I purchased the Mix B size 2 quill brush. This brush is fantastic. It holds a very sharp point and also holds a lot of water. My previous favorite brush was the Robert Simmons Sapphire rounds. In my testing, it looks like the size 2 Mix B quill holds about 40% more watercolor wash fluid than a size 12 Sapphire round. This is amazing despite the fact that the da Vinci size 2 is much smaller than the size 12 Sapphire.This quill brush can do everything from fine lines to washes. Fully loaded, the size 2 can lay down a single wash of about 21 sq inches on my test drawing paper. It has become my favorite brush. This brush combined with a larger flat might be the only brushes I need for painting.

This is the most awesome brush I have ever owned. I've used many and never really thought they were a lot different. But this one is great..... My other watercolor brushes sit idle while I use this one almost exclusively.
