Recently, I decided to go the generic route instead of buying yet again, another high priced chest roost for motocross and off-road riding.I have to tell you, while this might be OK for a young beginner on a slower bike, this is definitely not going to cut it for protection for anyone who likes to send itThe straps and buckles feel pretty cheap on these, and while it does stay in place, it just tends to run a bit small in the coverage area. However, the price point is pretty good, and it definitely comes in a lot cheaper than what you’d find from the big name brand models.overall, it’s just not my favorite, but it might be OK for somebody who is a beginner rider

This chest protector is really nice quality. It fits my son and husband perfectly. They are about 6’2 and 250lbs and have no problem wearing it. It can also adjust to fit a smaller person.

If you're an experienced rider or regularly engage in high-risk sports, you might want to consider higher-end options. But for general use, the DA New gear offers great value, especially for riders looking for comfort and protection without breaking the bank. Its so moveable and breathable, throw it on under or over a hoodie and its great.

I recently purchased the Motorcycle Protective Clothing, and while it offers good protection, there are some sizing issues to consider. It seems to be designed for smaller people, as I struggled to make it work for myself at 6'4". The fit was much shorter than expected, making it uncomfortable and not very practical for someone of my size. However, I was able to have my son try it on. While it’s a bit too big for him, he’ll likely grow into it over time, so it’s not a complete loss. Overall, the protective gear seems decent, but the sizing runs small, and it may not be the best option for taller individuals.

So this is marketed as a smaller, lighter version of DA's regular chest protection, and that's exactly what it is. I'm 5'9 and 220lbs, it fits fine. In fact I can lock each side to it's maximum point, so there are several inches of room for someone larger. It does, however, only go down to the top of my lower back. That will provide plenty of protection, but it isn't for my full torso. Again, this is the smaller and lighter version, so that's no reason to complain. This vest isn't supposed to make you Batman... But I did have my kids hit me a little with it on, and it definitely provides good protection. I'm thinking this will be good for under my mountain biking jersey.

December 13, 2024:This lightweight body armor is composed of two pieces: one breastplate and one back plate. The two plates are joined by straps on the back plate; two on top and two on the side. Two extra rivets were included. No instructions were included but configuration info is available on the Amazon product page.I'm 5'8" and wear a US Large shirt. The plates go as low as my belly button while standing. I was hoping they would provide coverage a bit lower toward the waist, but I discovered that the length is just right to allow for sitting down without removing everything. The fit/placement matches that of the model in one of the product images.I would recommend securing the top straps first then putting the armor on. They pass over the shoulders and are affixed to the front with Velcro. Next, inserting the side straps is easy. The elastic of the side straps is adjustable and the tabs plug into slots in the breastplate. A push of a button allows the tabs to be removed easily. The armor provides some protection against impact and abrasion. I think it's reasonably durable relative to its weight and flexibility. If I notice anything remarkable while using it, I'll update the review.December 15, 2024: For people who don't like the armored look, it may be worn under a jacket or other outer garment.
