The Tour-Grade Peg Winder by D'Addario offers next level performance for luthiers, techs or anyone who wants to change strings with maximum speed and ease. The multi-tool design brings together a ball bearing, non-marring socket for smoother winding, molded grips, and a spring-loaded bridge pin puller.

This replaced an aging string winder that really was a struggle to use comfortably. This is a nice upgrade. This is easy to hold and grip and winds in tight spaces. The peg puller feels sturdy and reliable. It's a simple tool but a really good value and has a low profile, so it doesn't take up a lot of space in yourt guitar bag.

This string winder is the best string winder I've ever used. It is not a cheap tool like a lot of other string winders. The winder actually has a bearing in it and it is incredibly smooth. The bridge pin puller works great as well and I was able to pull the bridge pins on my acoustic guitar with no issues. The winder fit perfectly over my guitar's tuning pegs and made winding the new strings on the pegs very easy.

I'm quite impressed with the quality of this tool! The most notable feature is the ball bearings for the string winder. It has a very smooth, consistent action, and it seems to be built for many years of use.The quality and feel of the entire tool seems to be of a professional grade. The rubberized grips are just right. The spring action of the peg puller works well, and it should be perfect for when I need it. I haven't needed to use the peg puller yet, but it attaches to the pegs on my acoustic guitar perfectly.I have a cheaper winder tool with string cutter (it also happens to be D'Addario) which isn't nearly as nice. The winder piece is held in place with a metal screw into the plastic handle, and after replacing several strings, the screw had worked its way out - essentially UNscrewing itself. Since this tool is engineered so much better, I don't expect it to ever have that problem.

I know, I know. It's a string winder. Listen, a string winder is a small thing - but it's a thing I won't live without. Whether that is a $2.00 plastic cheapo or something really nice like this. I just won't change my strings without one. It's a small quality of life item that just makes a mundane experience a little more enjoyable. As far as string winders go, this is great. It feels good in the hand, has a nice slightly rubberized texture, fits tuners snugly so it doesn't slip, and has a built in pin puller. D'Addario can always be trusted to put out a quality product. I've been using their strings forever and every accessory I've tried has been great.

I expect good quality from D'Addario and this tool is no exception. Makes string changes a breeze and I'll never consider going back to manual winding. The rubberized grip is nice to make sure you don't accidentally drop it or scratch anything.

I had an old peg winder that wasn't very good quality so when I saw this one I decided to order it. For the most part I think this is a really nice tool. This winder fits very well on all the pegs I've tried it on so far and I really like rubberized grip on the handle. The pin puller is handy and easy to use. The bearing in the end of the handle makes the winder very smooth but unfortunately that's the area where the flaw is in my winder. I'm not sure but I assume the internal hex screw and clear plastic end plate are what retain the bearing. The plastic plate has a split in it which appears to be "normal" judging by other reviewers pictures. However, on mine almost directly opposite of that there is a crack through the plastic from the screw to the outer edge and where it reaches the edge the plastic is already chipped away. I don't know if it's just a defective part or if it was damaged during assembly but I know it was like when I first unboxed it.

This is easily the most comfortable string winder I've used to-date. All my pegs are fairly standard, so I'm not surprised that they all fit, but they stay in place better than they do with my other winders, and the spin mechanism on this makes turning them effortless. The winder also feels more ergonomic than the other styles of manual winders I've used/owned, and the grips on the side keep the winder from digging into my palm or making my hand tired.Quality is similar to the other D'Addario products I own, well-made with solid-feeling materials. No flaws that I could find or complaints. The pin puller is the only thing I can't truly rate, as I no longer own guitars with pins, but the push mechanism is smooth and easy to slide, and from the look and feel of it, I suspect it will be more efficient and less of a struggle than than the standard pullers I used to use when I owned that style of guitar.
