Going to have to be honest here. I bought this bow a while ago. To me I paid a lot of money. At first it was nice but after a month or so things started getting strange. The horse hair stopped taking the Rosin so well and then eventually the whole Hank of horse hair came out of the tip of the bow. And in the process it ruined the bow. It was pretty disappointing because I did enjoy playing with the bow. So I would like to ask if this item could be reshipped to me without additional cost. Because it's been really hard to deal with not having a baroque bow anymore because of the amount of money I paid for it. I just cannot justify buying another and knowing the history I've had. Maybe I'm a fluke. But it would mean so much to me if this company could help me out here because I really relied on this bow and now I'm just torturing myself with cheap modern bows. Attempting to get the same feel I had with the Baroque bow before it broke basically.

Good quality baroque cello bow! I’ve had a lot of bad experiences in the past with some of those cheap knock-offs. It’s worth it to pay a bit more for a decent bow. I would definitely buy again from this company.

I don’t often leave product reviews, but my expectations were so exceeded by this bow that it was worth writing about! I am a enthusiastic amateur musician, and I have been playing more and more baroque music these days. After having a luthier friend convert one of my cellos to a baroque instrument, I wanted to start playing with a baroque bow as well. I found this bow and decided to take the gamble without trying it out, which I could justify with this price point. This bow arrived quickly and in great condition - straight stick, good weight and surprisingly well-balanced. Had my luthier take a look at it, and he was also impressed, after I shared how much I had paid. For now, I have no reason to upgrade or shop for another baroque bow!

Im reading these reviews and I'm unsure that many of the purchasers realize this is a Baroque style cello bow, not a standard modern cello bow. Im looking for a baroque bow for my baroque cello project. If your beginner is enrolled in a K-12 orchestra program, they are surely using a regular modern instrument with a regular modern bow. Do not be fooled by the attractive price. The Difference:"Baroque" cello bows have a concave parabola (curve) and withdraw tension toward the center of the bow. This style bow was used during more ancient periods, and was typically used on Cellos with Gut core strings as opposed to steel strings like a modern cello. The technique used on a Baroque bow is much different than on a modern bow, thus the sound/style differs too."Modern" bows have a "convex" parabola with withdraws tension toward the ends of the bow for a more consistent and virtuosic sound. Typically played with modern cellos and steel or synthetic core strings.A little research would benefit before showing up to rehearsal and your beginner's conductor or teacher is rolling their eyes...
