Quantity discounts offered by our store Cynthia's Merchant for bulk order. How do I clean and take care of the feather boas? After you receive the boas, please pull them out of the PVC bag(s), preferably outdoors, in order to get rid of debris formed during processing and shipping. The boas should be hung for 48 to 72 hours before use. The longer you hang them up, the better they will look. Feather boas are also washable. Clean the boas by hand washing in warm water and soap. Rinse off the soap with cold water. Then, wipe off the boas with a towel or paper towels. After removing most of the excess water, use a blow dryer to finish drying the boas and maintain their fluffiness. All of our feather products have been professionally cleaned, steamed, and sanitized. If the strings on the ends of the boa are too long, you may retie the string tightly as close as possible to the feathers and cut the rest off. The boa will not fall apart if you do this.

Disappointed...does not look as nice as picture...very thin and half the feathers came off pulling it out of the bag. :=(

I always use Cynthia’s for my homecoming mums. Great quality. Feathers are full, looks great. Yes, they shed so I shake them out outside before using.

Love it!! We purchased 2 so we'd have the length we needed. Frames our window nicely. Color looks nice against the pale blue wall. Worked 4 what we were looking 4. We did shake them ouside ( very vigorously) to shake the feathers into a fluffed out state. Lost heaps of feathers but still looks mighty! Now we'll go ahead and buy more for the other windows.

When I first had this boa it was shedding like crazy, all over my apartment. I took it outside and shook the everloving heck out of it until it stopped shedding. Quite a lot of feathers came out and it has a bit less volume now, it arrived very thick and nice and now it's looking a little thin for my preference. I wish they had attached the feathers better or done it even thicker so after it's shook out it still has lots of volume. It is however very soft and the feathers seem to be of nice quality. It is made of shorter, finer, fuzzy feathers at the core and then longer feathers that reach outward past them. Keep in mind feathers can get mites even though they're not attached to a bird, so freezing the boa for a day or two every once in a while might be a good idea. Also if the feathers get scraggly or just not as nice looking you can steam the boa to refresh the feathers, you can do this either with a handheld steamer or over the stove if you're careful.

You will shed like a turkey! I used these for a 20's themed party and they looked very full and extravagant. However, I did have a pool of feathers under my seat. Still they they full...doubt they would last very long. My event was a one time thing, so these are hanging in my closet. Ironically, they've stopped shedding in the closet, so maybe they just needed an initial shake...Regardless, depending on what you need them for -- they're pretty!

This is a nice full long boa. I was concerned about the fullness when ordering but it didn’t let me down in that department. I will say, this thing sheds everywhere all the time. Basically once it’s out of the package it can’t stop won’t stop status. I wore this out on capital hill in Seattle and Seattle is now covered in a trail of feathery, bar hopping, bad diversion making fun. Friends just followed the trail of feathers to find me all night. Even after all of this sheading it still surprisingly looks great.

These are beautiful boas for the price. I needed this for a costume, and use feathers frequently. The shedding is tiny bits. It is not as awful as people made it sound. Boas shed. I have had some that lose gobs of feathers. These are not losing big feathers just small fluff coming off mostly. It is what boas do. Do not be alarmed. As for the ends, just tie them closer and trim them. Done. I ordered the 100g champagne colored.. nice and fluffy. I am happy with my purchase.. especially for the price, and will order again for other costumes. Thank you very much!
