As a 360° content creator, I remember having a case like this when I owned the Ricoh Theta Z1. I'm glad to finally have one that's compatible with my Insta360 X5. This case is great for virtual tour creators whenever you're traveling from one area, to the next, while keeping your camera covered in-between shots. I love how you can attach your monopod to the camera with this case on, and this case protects the entire camera, not just the lenses like with the lens cap. This case also fits with lens guards installed.I'm not sure what the whole on the side of the case is for, I guess I'll be careful when using this when filming in extremely dusty conditions. Great case and comes with screen protectors!

My X5 generally exists in one of three states. It might be in a hard shell case with several accessories when its being stored for days or longer. In a cage when I'm out and about and might want to hang an accessory on it. Or in a case like this Cynova, especially when I am carrying it on selfie stick. It's open on the bottom and slightly on one side, but otherwise wraps entirely around the X5.The outer shell is durable, allegedly waterproof and splash-proof. Inside is lined with a kind of fleece. One of my favorite features is that you can leave your lens protectors on and the case will still zip up easily. The bottom is open so you can leave it on your selfie stick.A carabiner clip is included, but that's not something I use.It also comes with two screen protectors. In use, it doesn't take long to zip or unzip this case. This is an excellent way to carry and protect your X5.Jerry

CYNOVA X5 Case for Insta360 X4/X5 (for Original Lens Cap), Insta X5 Carrying Case with 2X Glass Screen Protector,Hard Shell Travel Protector Cover Compatible with Insta360 X5 Accessories Black.I recently started using the CYNOVA X5 Case for my Insta360 X5, and it’s been great for keeping everything safe and organized. The hard shell gives me confidence that my camera is protected, especially when I toss it in a backpack for travel or outdoor shooting. Inside, it fits snugly—even with the regular lens cap on—so nothing shifts around. It’s padded just enough to keep the camera from getting scratched, and the zipper works smoothly every time. I really like how quick it is to pop the camera in and out, especially compared to dealing with rubber lens covers. It also comes with two screen protectors, which is a nice bonus to avoid scratches. The case doesn’t take up much space and feels lightweight, but still strong. It’s a practical, simple solution that works well for everyday use. If you want a no-fuss way to protect your Insta360 X5 and keep it ready to go, this case does the job really well.

In addition to this I've previously purchased two other protective cases for the Insta360 X4, but this one requires the least amount of effort and will probably see the most use.First I bought a stretchy silicone cover that basically protects the lens end of the camera (but not the body) even if you have the extra clear glass protectors installed, but every time I put it on it does have to slide a little on the lens surface, and unless they are completely free of grit the cover itself will eventually cause scratches. Then of course I have the normal hard shell carrying case with storage compartments for each component and spare batteries if everything is disassembled between uses. But since my camera will be used primarily on a stick this zippered cover is the easiest means of providing full camera and lens protection without having to slide over the lenses during installation. The construction is basically two hard shells (similar to the type used in many small equipment cases) hinged and zippered so that it can be quickly installed over the camera while still on the stick. Although it may touch the larger lens protectors (premium or standard) it is much less likely to slide around and it does have a soft interior fabric. If you are inclined to leave your camera on a stick ready to go this type of case is probably a good choice. It's very inexpensive and made well enough to serve the intended purpose.

There are lots of ways to store your X5, and this case is perfect if you like to keep it mounted on your selfie stick so it's always ready to go. That’s how I usually roll, which is why I gave this a shot. The outer shell feels well-made with a nice textured finish, and the fit is great—if you're NOT using a cage. Unfortunately, if you have a small cage (like the carbon fiber one I use), the case won’t zip shut. Also, while the open bottom is expected (so you can keep it on a tripod or stick), I’m not a fan of the additional open side. I’d prefer full protection all the way around. That said, for under $16 (and cheaper with coupons), the value is hard to beat if you’re a grab-and-go user. It also comes with two screen protectors and a carabiner, which is a nice bonus. Just know it’s designed for a bare camera setup—no extra frames or cages.
