A while back I found some scalpel folding knives and they were on sale, so I bought 3 of them. I gave 2 of them to a couple of friends. They like them very much. I used my all the time for work and other stuff. I had one blade left, so I went on Amazon to get the same kind , and I found a good deal on a 100 blades . I’m going to restock my friends with 25 blades each for a gift , and I’ll keep the rest. Very sharp and easy to replace, fits in my top pocket of my shirt , light weight ! I recommend these blades!

Sometimes you just need something better than an Xacto knife. 100 blades, I'm in my mid 80s, probably won't be buying again.

As one might expect, scalpel blades are scalpel blades. These are sharp and individually packaged so that there is less likelihood of an accidental cut while changing blades. For maximum safety, it is nice to use a hemostat to hold and install/remove any blade.

They are sharp, clean, and make short work of hobby cutting needs. Cuts like X-acto, but be careful on the pressure you apply. These scalpels are thin—which improves their cutting capabilities, but affects the ruggedness of the blade—put too much pressure on them and they will snap, which isn't a big deal because you have like 99 other blades in the pack.

I do lots of arts and crafts projects with 10A blades. I was running out of 10A blades I had bought a few years ago from Swann Morton, so I decided to buy some more but I wasn't able to find them at an affordable price. These CynaMed surgical blades fit the bill quite nicely. They are also sterilized, so that is a plus!I have only had them for a few days, but so far they are really sharp and strong (I shall try to update once again in the upcoming months and also comment on their durability). I want to see how they compare with the Swann Morton 10A --which even in small projects and a fair amount of pressure their tips break off. So far the blade I am using has not broken. The main difference between the Swann Morton 10A and these is in the top part of the blade. (See attached image) The CynaMed are straight like an X-acto blade, while the Swann Morton are curved at the top. I do not think this will make a difference in my projects, but mights certainly interest someone else.I am giving these blades 4 out of 5 stars because I have yet to try them out for their durability and how they withstand pressure with upcoming projects. I am optimistic they will do well!

I use this as a thread-cutter for sewing, and also as a general craft knife. It's excellent for taking sewing projects apart by cutting the threads instead of the fabric. The thread just jumps apart with the lightest touch of the scalpel. I have also used it to cut sisal mat that my cat shredded on a scratching post so I could replace it with fresh sisal. It did a terrific job of getting through the sisal cleanly and efficiently, much better than a box cutter (though the box cutter might have had a dull blade). It will definitely cut through people too, I got myself once accidentally. I might choose a slightly different curve when I get through this box of 100 blades, I think there's another one with a slightly narrower curved blade that came with my handle that I liked really well also. But these are doing a good job for my purposes.

I purchased these blades mainly for hobby purposes. I've found that only 1 in 3 blades are without issue. Many have grind issues, small nicks in the blade, or simply are not sharp enough. Will likely look elsewhere in the future. It could be that these blades are simply not made to be suitable for my uses. Takeaway: the blades are fine, but if you want consistent razor sharpness, look elsewhere.
