I've been using ear buds for my phone for years and I got tired of them either falling out of my ears or being yanked out by the cord. So I decided to give these bone conduction headphones a go. I am pleasantly surprised at how well these work! The little pads sit comfortably on your cheekbones right in front of your ears and transmits sound through the use of vibrations that your inner ear picks up. This lets you enjoy audio content without having ear buds or headphones blocking out the sounds in your environment. This is perfect for safety if you're out and about and need to be aware of your surroundings.I am a avid podcast listener so I was happy to hear spoken audio coming out crisp and clearly. The headphones charge via USB C and give ample time for podcasts and audio book listening. They also work great for hands free phone calls, with your voice and your callers voice coming across clearly. All in all I am quite pleased with the overall quality and value of these headphones. No more wires for me!

These very affordable headphones are ideal for podcast/audio book listeners who need to be able to hear their surroundings while listening. They fit securely over the back of the head like reverse glasses, and they stay put with moderate activity even over a pair of glasses. These are NOT for noisy environments. Most ambient noise, even a running faucet, will drown out these headphones. When you turn them up, they tend to rattle your brain. They're a little uncomfortable at first too. The place where they sit, behind your temple, will get sore the first couple uses. This went away for me. They are also not ideal for deep bass/audiophile music listening. Higher volume are very uncomfortable. Casual talk listening, these are excellent for the price.

This is a bone conduction headset, so it operates differently than normal in-ear or over-ear earbuds. In fact, it doesn't cover the ear at all; your ear canal is completely unobstructed. Rather, the disks you see sit against the skin of your head just in front of your ears (just in front of the tragus -- look it up!), leaving your ears completely open. You can't hear any sound from the headphones if the disks are more than an inch or so away from your head, so you could be playing these at max volume and the person sitting next to you wouldn't be able to hear anything.Plus, since your own ears are not covered, you can also hear ambient sound. That is a plus and minus: if you are on a plane or public transit watching a movie on your phone and want to shut out sound around you, this is a bad choice. But if you're listing to music while on a run or (particularly) a bike ride, and for safety sake you need to be able to hear ambient noise (a passing car or someone shouting out a warning), these are perfect. I primarily use headphones while running or working out, so I need to be able to hear outside sounds, and earbuds (or particularly over-the-ear headphones) could be dangerous -- I won't use headphones while bike riding because the danger from not hearing an approaching car could be deadly. But these are perfect for bike riding. The quality of the sound is good -- again, it takes a little getting used to, hearing through your skull rather than your ears. I don't see any drop-off between regular earbuds and these in terms of sound enjoyment.Only downside -- because volume depends on contact with the skin, the headset moves a little when you move your head (especially when you look directly up), which can impact the volume. Again, it just takes a little getting used to.Quality is good, battery life seems good so far. The on-off button must be pressed for 3 seconds to turn on and 5 seconds to turn off, which is longer than other headsets; and if you take it off and set it down while it's still connected, you'll run down the battery without knowing it (because you can't hear that it's still on). One other thing to get used to. The other buttons are easy to use, and they're spaced far enough apart to be able to use without looking.I've been wearing these exclusively for the last week or so after getting them, and I think they'll be my go-to for workouts. They'll definitely be my go-to for bike rides, since I can easily wear them with a bike helmet on, too.
