This is only an initial perspective on the installation of this dust guard.I own several 4.5-5.0 angle grindersAnd I tried to make it work on 3 different brands.The depth of the attachment collar doesn’t allow for the blade to be properly centered on all three brands.I wasn’t able to use this as a result.Status:RETURNED

Specifically, the issue is that the guard's adapter for the DeWalt DWE402 is a rubber bushing, and when the guard clamp screws are tightened as tight as possible, the guard seems to be held fast. Then when I started grinding out a mortar joint, the counter torque started twisting the DeWalt grinder around, pinching my fingers between the grinder and the guard. I would adjust the guard position, start grinding again, and the grinder body would rotate with the counter torque of the tuck point blade as it cut out the mortar. I even shimmed the guard clamp to make it tighter, and it still rotated. I threw the Dastool shroud in the trash and ordered a DeWalt Tuck Pointing Dust Collector for $109, and gee . . . it worked. Proving once again that one gets what one pays for.
