When friends come over and want to smoke, I lead them right outside I hate smoking in my house. But out in the back patio is where the bugs are. I light 3 around us and 1 on the table and the bugs seam to disappear. You can smell the citronella in the patio but it's better than getting bit all night! One candle must last about 20 hours, several patio pick nicks. Hint is don't pore out the wax when you blow them out. They will start out small flame when relighting but still emit citronella. I like to burn 4 at a time, but I only replace 1 at a time. any exposed to light wind will burn up wax faster and need larger flame.

Great for rv ing, camping and comes with a nice tight cover! Packs well in the car to bring anywhere at dawn or dusk! Nice citronella smell and provides nice candle light! Keeps mosquitos and no see ums at bay!

This was packed in a large semi-padded bag which allowed the lid to come off. When the UPS man handed it to me, it was quite obvious what was inside. Stupidly I opened it in the house and wax flakes went everywhere. I put the bag on my porch because it alone should drive the little demons away. If you order this, feel the bag to see if the lid is off. If so, open outside. The smell is strong. It should be a great repellent.

Well - we tested these out in Texas (it's already pretty buggy down here) and they did not pass. While the candle was lit at the table I was sitting at, I got bitten and saw mosquitos still flying around. The scent is fine so I guess we will repurpsoe to indoor candles. We're just bummed we haven't found a solution to these pesky mosquitos! We were so hopeful this would have been it.

They did good for awhile. I think maybe the mosquitoes got used to the deterrent. But they definitely did their job for a while!
