► What is a truss rod?

The term "truss rod" is used to define the steel bar that runs along a guitar's neck.

The adjustment screw is located inside the sound hole, as shown in the image to the left.

Using the Hex Key you get with this purchase, you'll be able to adjust the strings action (The distance between the strings and fingerboard).

Turning the screw clockwise will bring the strings closer to the fingerboard while turning it counter-clockwise will take the strings further away from the fingerboard.

The guitars action was a little off and it did not hold tune very well. No surprise due to the cost. Go with a metal string Fender or Yamaha and you'll be better off.

As with most nylon string guitars, the action will always a little high because of the thicker nylon strings. With a little patience & trial/ error... you can adjust this guitar to your personal liking. It sounds great.

The guitar needs a setup right out of the box. You are going to have to file down thesaddle, which takes time. I broke the one that came with the guitar, and replaced it with one made of buffalo bone. If you are skilled at working on guitars, you might also want to file down the nut a bit. You will also have to adjust the truss rod a bit to lower the action. The intonation is surprisingly exceptional, especially given how much you pay for the instrument. The strings are actually quite nice sounding.I'm not too pleased with the feel fretboard though it is well made and the frets are of terrific quality. The neck width feels a little thin to me. But that's just my personal preference. Some people like it that way.All in all a very good guitar.

As far as I can tell, it is a solid mahogany back, sides, and neck. Soundboard is laminated spruce but looks gorgeous. Solid walnut fingerboard and bridge look great too. The rosette is a decal, but is centered and looks ok from a distance. Solid walnut fingerboard and bridge. Took about an 1/8” off the saddle to help the action. Frets are level and dual action truss rod works as it should. Tuners work but are cheap feeling and could stand to be upgraded.Reviews that comment that it doesn’t stay in tune probably don’t realize how much stretching nylon strings undergo before stabilizing. Overall, a great buy for the price!

for the price, it's a good instrument, but the action is so high that it isn't a good option for beginners since you probably need to replace the saddle. probably a good way to save money for some people but also probably not worth the headache for many people

Guitar came reasonably set up - and for a nylon string guitar you generally don't want super fast action in any case!intonation was great, and the general set up of frets, fret smoothness/edges, and (lack of) neck bow was far better than I expected (I've seen worse in newly-shipped guitars at ten times the cost)The tone is *decent*, and is absolutely fabulous for the price (it's not as rounded as the best classical guitars, but duh - it's $130 WITH a gig bag! It's easily a $20 gig bag, so $110 for the guitar!)This is not a *beginner* guitar, it's a *workmanlike* guitar. It is sufficiently good for me to rely on for my continuing (re)education in classical guitar (after playing jazz, folk, blues, and rock for almost 50 years) and I get absolutely no sense that I'll want to replace it in a few months or years...All in all - it is astonishing. In comparison - I used to have a cheap "thrash guitar" I picked up for playing while I was long term on a project far from home -- I'd travel with clothes, but I wasn't trusting a decent instrument to airline baggage handling! That cheap thrash guitar cost about the same as this -- or a little more when considering inflation - and that guitar was really trash. good enough to give me a surface on which to maintain some chops... but I simply left it behind at the end of that project. It wasn't worth keeping... THIS guitar I would keep.

The quality of this guitar is incredible for its price. Look at my pictures. This is straight out of the box.I cannot find any major imperfections in the fit or finish. Im impressed to see 5 ply binding on the front, single ply on the back, a bound neck with indicators, and a spruce top (seems to be bookmatched but is ply of some kind, Im sure) and actual mahogany back, sides and neck, not nato! The clear coat and polish on this guitar is pretty good for this price. Now, that said, the fret work and general setup is obviously where they saved money... Frets are rough, the saddle is way too high, nut height is not optimal, fretboard is dry...etc. Which is actually perfect for someone like me. I love doing that stuff. (I am my own guitar tech) Maybe not the best guitar for a "first guitar ".Being a very, very light guitar, (1-2 lbs?) it projects even subtle notes with high volume, It lacks good bass definition and is treble heavy, but some may actually like its crispy bright tone. Overall it does sound pretty good though, and it is nice and loud.I actually like that this guitar does not have electronics.

beautiful and high-quality GuitarAfter reading good reviews on this guitarI decided to give it a go, and I'm not disappointed with this beauty.I search and inspected this guitar for defects on the finish and craftsmanship. So I could not find one. The only problem I have was that the strings on the 12 fret was to high. I guess this typical on inexpensive guitars. So I fixed this inconvenience sanding the bridge to low the string enough to have a better playing and sound. The craftsmanship of this guitar is amazing for the price. The sound is very good but no the best. The strings are good but no the best neither. I recommend to replace the string if you want but they are acceptable. I pretty sure, there're not many guitars with these beauty, high quality, and amazing craftsmanship on the market for this price.I recommend this guitar but I recommend also to low the bridge. Especially if you want to learn play Flamenco or Rumba rhythm on this guitar.
