Bought to help prevent dog bites for grooming .They help with scratches , however bites will go through fabric. I tested fabric by putting the end of scissors through . There's no extra reinforcement for the pressure if a bite and point easily went through . I wear them now cause it's cold in the shop and tired of getting scratched

I've only used these twice at this writing but I can tell these will be indispensable in my future gardening. I was doing some pruning on some plants that would normally leave my arms all scratched up. That's no longer a problem.I have skinny arms and the fit was comfortable. The fabric has enough stretch that I imagine it would accommodate a wide variety of arm girths. Although if you had really big forearms it might be more than snug. Seems to be more spacious up top in the bicep region. The velcro cinch was easy to use and adjust and held securely.I was looking at another style of gardening arm protection where the glove part was integral to the design. I much prefer this way with the gloves being separate. Gives you more flexibility when you just want to remove only the gloves to do whatever, like handle something with more dexterity or just tie your shoes.

I had my doubts, but they worked for their intended purpose, which was trimming and removing jagger bushers. Sorry, don't know what the technical name is, but if you are looking for something like this, you know what I mean. Great fit, and really good protection from the ouchies!

I work with some aggressive students and these have kept my arms safe from bites and scratches. The different colors are nice because my pink ones definitely stand out from the black ones that belong to the classroom!

These offer good protection for yard work, such as pruning hedges and shrubs or clearing out brush. The Velcro adjustment at the biceps is clever and it provides a good fit so that the sleeve will not roll down.BY THE WAY, THE PHOTO IS MISLEADING AND I AM SURPRISED AMAZON HAS NOT REMOVED IT. It shows a knife blade cutting across a sleeve. What a joke! That's why I didn't give a 5-star rating. Do NOT expect that type of protection. It will protect against branches on shrubs, hedges, etc, for example.

The arm protectors are easy to put on and to adjust the upper arm fit with Velcro. They feel like they would provide very good protection fron cuts and scratches. Working so far.

As my mother aged, she became increasingly susceptible to bruising, bandaged bleeding scraps and blood blisters on her arms caused by the most minor scraping of her skin, or tiniest thorn punctures from one of her many rose bushes. Now retired, the same condition has come upon me and appears to be progressively becoming worse as I age, as it it did with Mom. A recent urgent water heater replacement required the renovation of the dedicated closet housing the unit, resulting in both of my arms and hands covered by large bandages protecting big bleeding scrapes, and not bandaged dark blood blisters/bruises covering all areas of both arms. When I'd find blood on a glove or shirt, I wouldn't know what I'd done to cause the new scrape or cut. Long sleeve cotton shirts didn't provide enough protection, just soaked up blood, so I changed back into short-sleeve T's.Today was the first wearing of my new OriStout Kevlar Protective Sleeves while working with ladders and equipment on the house, and today is the first day doing this kind of work that I haven't pulled out the fishing box re-dedicated to first aid! No new bruises, blood blisters or cuts on either arm, and there were plenty of strikes, scraping, and banging of arms and elbows just moving myself, materials and tools up and down ladders.I'm astounded by how well these sleeves protected my arms. The morning was hot from the start and it became hotter, but I didn't notice that my arms were sweating until the sleeves were pulled off when taking a break. They are very comfortable, and stayed in place on my arms. The sleeves on my T-Shirt covered the velcro band at the top of the sleeve, that's how long they are, and I'm 6' tall.My experience today tells me these are a 10!! for me, and I'd encourage you to try out a pair if you suffer from the same ageing affliction that I do, and that Mom did.
