I recently purchased this set of mini sugar shakers, and it has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen tools. The design is simple yet effective, with a fine mesh that allows for a smooth dusting of powdered sugar without clumps. I use it mainly for my baking projects, especially when I want to add a delicate touch of sugar to cakes, cookies, or pastries. One of the most useful features is the handle, which makes it easy to hold and shake, especially when you’re working with small portions. The plastic cap is a nice touch too, helping to keep the mesh covered when not in use, ensuring it stays clean and ready for the next round of baking. However, be careful when handling it, as the cap can come off easily if not properly secured, leading to some minor spills. While the size is perfect for quick use and small amounts, I’ve noticed that if you overfill it, it can become a little messy. It’s best to fill it only halfway to avoid the sugar spilling out when you try to shake it. The mesh does its job well, but sometimes it can get clogged if you don't store it properly, so I recommend keeping it in a dry, cool place and giving it a little tap to shake out any excess before putting the cap back on. Another thing worth mentioning is that since it’s made of plastic, I was initially concerned about its durability, but after several weeks of use, it’s held up just fine. Used for freshly ground nutmeg and powdered sugar, great. To get the cap off easily, squeeze the plastic against the stainless steel, it helps a lot.

These mini powder sugar shakers are nice to have around for pancake or waffle mornings. I'd imagine others would fine them useful for certain types of deserts, though that is not what I used them for. They fit on a kitchen cabinet without taking up too much space and do a great job of dusting the powdered sugar. The stainless steel is lightweight and I like how the mesh portion screws on and how they come with a cap to keep out moisture. Should note that with how thin the metal is, I'm not sure I'd want to machine wash these. That's my only gripe. To be realistic, though, how often are you going to wash one of these? Probably not very often and as such, it isn't that big a deal to hand wash them from time to time to be safe.

This is a nice little shaker, slightly on the small size, but then again I'm just using it to flour the pastry mat when making dough. You will have to shake it around a bit to keep the flour from piling up at the screen which clogs it up a bit.

Good shaker set, but not all equally well made. The first one I selected from the set had the screen lid stuck in the plastic lid. It would not stay screwed in place on the base. Normally, the metal lid with the screen filter screws on the metal shaker base and is held in place by the threading, but on this first shaker the threads would not hold and the metal screen lid would come off the base and stayed stuck in the plastic lid. I grabbed another shaker from the set and that one worked properly. The 6 oz size that I got was plenty big for my needs, so I don't see myself needing anything larger. The quality of the metal and screen seems good - and probably better than the shakers that I've seen at the dollar store that only had a lid with poked holes. This one would do a better job if wanting to sprinkle powdered sugar or cocoa powder on food or drinks. Overall, I think the quality is good - even if perhaps inconsistent. For the first shaker I had with lid that didn't stay screwed in place, I might try it on one of the other bases to see if the threading might have a better hold.

We wanted something that would allow us to leave coffee toppings like cinnamon, cocoa, nutmeg, etc. readily accessible without having to turn to the spice cabinet. We also wanted something durable that would not be mistaken for regular salt or pepper shakers. We also wanted at least three, matching shakers with dust lids as the coffee is open-faced.Enter this set of four, stainless steel shakers by CUSINIUM. Priced at $21.99/4pcs at the time of ordering, this set has been a wonderful addition to the coffee bar and the kitchen in general. We used a labeler to note which shaker contained which spice and have filled them with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cocoa as noted, but left the fourth shaker marked as 'seasonal' so that we use powdered vanilla, pumpkin spice, powdered sugar, powdered maple sugar, or (one of my personal favourites) pulverized candy-cane dust.These shakers have seen a lot of use. My wife is more likely to grab the cinnamon shaker to dress oatmeal in the morning than to reach into the spice cabinet. If we have guests over for coffee, we can load the set on a tray and bring it into the living-room or out on to the patio in the summer. They have been knocked off of tables, tipped off of trays, bounced off the floor a few times and they are still in fabulous shape. We have been lucky that the dust lids have stayed on each time.Cleaning and care of the shakers is easy and when they arrived, we simply handwashed them in dish soap and hot water. But, as the seasons change, we have an opportunity to run them through the dishwasher then. I do not think I am comfortable washing the dust lids in the dishwasher though, so we will likely handwash these and only put the metal portions in the machine.Recommended!In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.

These are just like the one my mom used to have, except they are so itty-bitty! You will encounter some difficulty filling them (use a funnel) and there are some inconsistencies in the manufacturing, leaving the meshes not always fully installed. Regardless, they work, have nice plastic covers to keep out dust and to keep the contents from escaping too easily, and they're attractive.
