The curved form of these plates are worth every penny. They are much more comfortable than the flat ones. I purchased the 14.5 and 8.75 for me and my wife. Excellent products.

They have some sharp edges so I’m worried about them wearing inside the plate carrier. The plates are a nice weight though.

I really like the slight bend in the plates and the round edges. If you have back muscle then the bend contours around the shoulder blade muscles. In the front the bend contours around the pectoralis muscles. So they are perfectly designed and if one doesn't think so all one would have to do is envision a completely flat plate and see how that wouldn't work. You wouldn't be able to move sandwhiched between two flat pieces of steel. I did have to weigh them also because I heard it was suggested the platest are significantly heavier then stated. So on my scale they came out to 14.4 lbs. And I allow my scale a discrepancy plus or minus .01 lbs. Since I got the orange 14.5 pound plates I would say the accusations are unfounded and they are dead on and true to weight. They are very nice and a pair for $99 is a great price I would pay that all day long for these because they are really hard and very thick solid steel. For the same price I can get a shield designed to stop all kinds of munitions and it's not too unsimilar to these chest plates. Another tip is that they make foam backs to these plates for cheap and are often sold as paintball armor. So if you think they are sharp just put a foam back on it.

I these plates for my son, and I have to say, they have really surpassed my expectations. It is amazing how much better this curved plate is as opposed to a flat plate. The chest tightness is measurably more comfortable, the weight is as described, and the price point is unbeatable. Definitely a recommended purchase

The curved plate in general makes a difference in making something uncomfortable a little less uncomfortable. It does feel better on the chest and back, especially wearing the vest with running Metcons or walking/rucking.Haven’t check the exact weight, not that big of a deal. Plates fit the vest and are as described. Do recommend.
