Got this to secure my log splitter trailer hitch. Simple to use, secures it without having to worry about someone using bolt cutters to break it. Sturdy construction makes it worth the cost.

No complaints about the lock. It's solid brass and does exactly what it's supposed to do. The only problem I have is that it's too small for my 28' travel trailer's tongue lock. Not the lock's fault I didn't bother to measure what width I needed.

I had to cut the old lock off because it was seized solid - so I looked all over the place for a replacement.Nobody could tell me what lock would work - and most of the locks that other people bought had to have the hole enlarged on the quick release plate for it to workThis is a very simple but very effective design - also made of corrosion resistant materialWorks great

This lock is a bad design. It requires threading the two pieces together using the key to spin the lock. It will not allow you to pull the key out unless it is in a specific position.I bought this lock on June 22 and used it on my trailer for 49 days. They lock became stuck and the key broke off, It took less than 3 minutes to cut the lock off with a hacksaw.I am not surprised the key broke, I was concerned about the design to begin with. I am surprised how quickly it "froze". It didn't even make it though summer.

I give it 4 stars because of difficulty to lock unlock, seems one key is harder to work with than the other but still have to play with keys inside the lock to make it work.

I bought this lock for my boat trailer. It works exactly as it says and is easy to lock and unlock with the key. I trust this lock to be secure and effective against theft.

This is a decent coupling lock, especially for the price. It does exactly what I needed, hold up in transit and discourage theft. However, I'm not sure how well it would hold up to a serious attempt to remove.

First, it has a brass finish, and is stated so by the manufacturer. So, this is not a knock on them. But here is my problem. First, the locking pin was not pushed all of the way into the locking arm. It looked like it jammed 3/4 of the way in.Second, it has a screw mechanism to the lock and the key can only be removed at the 12 o'clock position. It was not wide enough to fit the hasp on my trailer, and close completely.Because of the screw mechanism, you use the keys like a screwdriver, and this does not bode well for the key not breaking. (as the mechanism corrodes and becomes more resistant..)Third, the keys are very hard to insert. This will go away with time, but does not warm my heart as to the quality. I'll use this lock until I can find a better one.

Needed an extra coupler lock for the 2nd trailer. I wanted a different lock from the first one, and came across this. Low price and solid brass attracted me. The lock mechanism wasn't quite what I expected. You have to actually turn the key-lock cylinder round and round about 4-5 times, because it is actually a screw-threaded shaft. As you turn, the two sides slowly separate and the shackle opens. Once the pin is out of the mortise on the opposite arm, the two arms can flip around. It feels very solid. There is a rubber gasket around the lock cylinder to keep out water and grime. The brass key is easily recognizable on my key-ring, which makes it easy to find the right key. I recommend getting this lock.
