I bought this food processor to make bread crumbs with my leftover sourdough bread that I bake. It’s for the neighborhood birds. I also make pesto, hummus, and whipped cottage cheese for various high protein recipes as I am trying to use some weight. The food processor does a great job, good strength motor, and stable on the counter top even on high speed. The pulse feature is nice to use, and the various blades make slicing or grating vegetables a breeze. Easy to clean in the sink. Highly recommend. The full retail is 2.5 times the price of this factory refurbished unit. It’s a great value for a better quality food processor.

I only wish I had tried this food processor within 30 days of buying it. It would definitely have been returned to Amazon. Now, my only ethical option is to take it to an appliance recycling event, because it would be too cruel to send it to a thrift store and unload it on some unsuspecting second owner.I’ve had at least 8 food processors since my original Robot Coupe in 1980; none has approached that in functionality and ease of use. Since then, I’ve had a series of Cuisinarts, which get worse with every version, but that’s primarily due to modifications which appear to improve safety for people who might otherwise be inclined to stick their hands in the machines, or the like. But with this one, it seems to be less safe, harder to use, harder to clean, less enjoyable to use, and – amazingly – more difficult to store.I regularly use my food processor to mix bread dough and other items; this model requires that I use the very sharp cutting blade, which needs to be on this removable post, which seems to be designed primarily to get covered with dough. And when its sourdough being mixed, that’s not a good thing. If you don’t clean it immediately, it’s like a cement truck that doesn’t get washed out after a pour. And when you try to clean the sourdough off of the sharp cutting blade, you’d better have a bandage nearby. I’m tempted to grind the sharpness from the blade, but then it would be as worthless for cutting as it now is for mixing. It appears they tried to make the storage better, because when it arrives, the blades are all compactly stored. But once you take them apart, you have the equivalent of a Rubik’s Cube. I never had much success with those, so everything just gets thrown into the cupboard. (I never was a fan of the various storage options before, but at least I knew where and how to put it away.)

260 GMPC does the job well, lots of positives, including plenty of power.But....Here are some of our aggravations:- the mode/status lights blink INCESSANTLY while the bowl and cover are locked in place AND after using it (even with no cover (or bowl) on it). It's difficult to STOP THE BLINKING. You have to either unplug it (and plug back in) or *CAREFULLY* press the STOP (pulse) button with a depression of between 75ms and 180ms. A shorter duration press does nothing, a longer press does nothing. We we end up tapping it randomly until we hit the magic timing it requires.- it's loud (we wear headphone style ear protection)- the spindle/blade is designed better than previous models, but it's "loose" and wobbles. In fact some of the times, EVEN THO IT'S FIRMLY IN PLACE, it it doesn't mesh and grinds the meshing "gears"WHen we contacted cust support, several days later they just replied that it's supposed to be loose, and we sent the follow up question about do we need a replacement bowl that meshes and doesn't slip/grind the gears, they still have not responded.- like most food processor the round hole to add material while processing, is a small dia. (this one is 2")We fashioned a funnel by cutting off a commercial 6" funnel, and super-glued it to a segment of 1.5" PVC whose outer dia. luckily was just under 2" and fits. Too bad there's no accessory that's commercially available - they certainly include a large array of gizmos that are useless for us.- the bowl and cover are awkward to open and close - they are VERY tight fitting. I wish the gears meshed as tightly.
