not for beginners - the videos weren’t very clear but take this review with a grain of salt. I have a hard time believing this is beginner friendly - maybe its just not for me though

For the price of this set, it isn't bad. However, I am still somewhat new to crocheting and it was difficult due to the yarn easily splitting. The instruction booklet with the pattern was nice and the youtube videos were pretty good. (Maybe not as good as the woobles, but still easy to follow). I would buy more kits from this company if the yarn didn't split so bad.

My 14 year old is a budding crochet'er and loves these "learn to crochet" kits. The associated step by step instructions are very easy for her to follow and the end results are super cute and look just as expected. And bonus, these kits are the same quality and fraction of the cost of the "Woobles" kits. We will be buying more of these kits for sure!

The directions for the pattern on this kit were well written. It comes with a second booklet as reference material that defines terminology and uses picture examples along with written instructions on many stitches and covers abbreviations and many definitions not even used in the pattern itself. It makes for a good resource for the begginer as they want to explore and branch out beyond this specific pattern after becoming familiar with it.We got this for our 12yo for Christmas who enjoys crocheting and knows basics, but doesn't know how to follow a pattern yet. It is a thinner yarn that the yarn crafting world calls finger weight, sock weight, or 4ply were the common terms I learned from this. Which in my opinion is a little more challenging for a beginner because it makes it harder to see and count your stitches as you are learning to work with a pattern. This pattern relies on the crafter to be able to execute a "magic circle" to begin multiple parts/steps of the pattern. If the beginner crocheter can handle that this pattern will be fun and enjoyable. If that is a challenge it can bring frustration and a need for perseverance while working through this, but an opportunity for personal growth and a real sense of accomplishment once they get there. However, the pattern does include QR codes to video tutorials that can help with the learning process. The yarn provided will actually allow for more then just the 3 turtles it claims. We are going to have many tiny and colorful turtles roaming through our home before long.Overall we are quite pleased with this purchase.

I love these kits! I’ve made a few of them now. They take a little longer for me to make but include so many cute details that really make the projects special (for example the eye brows on the dog).
