When it works it does a great job. I'm having some problems using on a s24 ultra, shows as scanner not connecting, you have to unplug usb and plug back in then it works. When used on pc with long usb not had any problems. I found adding an LED block light between the scanner and the phone mount helped when scanning, needed a little usb extension as the cable supplied is made to measure. For the price I think this great though, just a shame having to unplugged and plug it in when you do a scan

Después de 8 horas de pruebas intensivas. A pesar de que ya tengo experiencia con este tipo de escáneres, no he conseguido escanear una forma parecida a la del caballo que se muestra en las fotos del producto. Lo quería precisamente para este tipo de cosas de unos 15-20cm de alto. El escaner se pierde cada 10 segundos. He seguido todas las indicaciones de los tutoriales (tanto de la marca, como de otros que hay por internet), ajustes de luz, distancia, velocidad... hasta compré una base giratoria para en teoría facilitar el trabajo. Pues no hay manera desde un PC. Y no digamos desde mi móvil (Samsung Galaxy Note 10+) que está listado en las instrucciones como móvil compatible. Se nota que escáneres del mismo tamaño, pero a 1.200 euros el más barato, utilizan otro tipo de luz (no infrarroja como este) que sí funcionan con los elementos del tamaño mencionado. Una pena, devuelto.

1. The unit worked once and then wouldn't connect to my computer or power up. Re-boot of computer got to where the computer recognized the camera again, but the camera didn't produce any image and the IR LEDs were dark.2. The one time it did work it was exceedingly fussy and didn't scan the edges of a 4" diameter item I was using for a test scan even after several minutes.3. This thing DOES NOT OPERATE ALONE. It is not a stand-alone scanner that you can use and then upload the results to your computer. You either have to connect it to an android device or to a computer. (Documentations says that it is compatible with IOS but the cords don't work with iPhone 13, so it could be with some other devices). I did not realize this when I purchased it and I don't want a device that relies on other devices to function.4. As with lots of stuff from China, the documentation for this thing is practically non-existent, and what it comes with is jibberish. I well-written manual and quick-start would go a very long way.5. I was looking for a tool and this is a toy. A toy that doesn't work. A $378 toy that doesn't work.

Lieferumfang:Die Verpackung und Aufbewahrung in der mitgelieferten Tasche ist vorbildlich.Das Zubehör ist reichhaltig und umfasst alles, was man benötigt, um den Scanner sowohl mobil als auch stationär in Betrieb zu nehmen.Sehr gut!Verwendung:Zur mobilen Verwendung mittels Smartphone sowie zur App kann ich leider nichts sagen, da ich kein Smartphone besitze, das den doch recht hohen Anforderungen gerecht wird.Ich nutze den Scanner statt dessen mit Windows 10 - was ich als Linux User erst noch installieren musste. Hier wäre eine entspr. Linuxversion der Software wünschenswert.Die Installation der Software lief reibungslos ab, ebenso die Installation des verfügbaren Firmwareupdates für den Scanner selbst. Dass sowohl ein Firmwareupdate als auch die Software in verschiedenen Versionen verfügbar ist, zeigt, dass derzeit offenbar noch eine entspr. Weiterentwicklung stattfindet. Die Releasenotes lesen sich vielversprechend und lassen auf weitere Verbesserungen in der nahen Zukunft hoffen.Die Bedienung der Software selbst ist weitestgehend intuitiv.Man hat verschiedenen Optionen zur Auswahl, die es vor dem Starten des eigentlichen Scanvorgangs anzupassen gilt (bspw. Größe des Objekts, Verwendung eines Drehtellers, Genauigkeit des Scans etc.). Auch ein Modus für das Scannen von menschlichen Gesichtern (Portrait) oder des gesamten Körpers (Body) ist vorhanden.Startet man den Scanvorgang, wird die Anzeige im Grunde in drei Ansichtsfenster unterteilt: auf der linken Seite sind zwei kleinere Kameraansichten übereinander positioniert (farbliche Darstellung und IR Darstellung), der zentrale Hauptbereich zeigt eine Punktwolke des erkannten Modells.Das Objekt wird automatisch erfasst und eine Anzeige informiert darüber, ob sich der Scanner im optimalen Abstand zum Objekt befindet oder ob es die Distanz zu verringern oder zu vergrößern gilt.Die Farbe der Punktwolke gibt Aufschluss darüber, ob die Erfassung erfolgreich war (grün) oder nicht (rot).Beim eigentlichen Scanvorgang werden zusätzlich die gescannten Frames und Points oben links im Hauptfenster angezeigt. Verändert sich der Wert nicht mehr, kann man das Objekt weiter bewegen - zumindest hat sich die Berücksichtigung dieser Werte bei mir als die beste Art herausgestellt, die Drehgeschwindigkeit des Objekts bzw. Bewegungsgeschwindigkeit des Scanners zu steuern. Verliert der Scanner den Anschluss, bspw. weil das Objekt/der Scanner zu schnell bewegt wurde, gibt es eine entspr. Warnmeldung, bis man die vorherige Position wieder hergestellt und die Software die entspr. Datenpunkte generiert hat.Hat man den Scanvorgang beendet, erstellt die Software das 3D Modell. Parallel zur automatischen Bearbeitung und Erstellung des Modells hat man hier die Möglichkeit der manuellen Nachbearbeitung. Das dann erstellte Abbild machte bereits im automatischen Modus einen guten Eindruck. Die Datei kann abschließen als .STL, .PLY oder .OBJ gespeichert werden.Fazit:Der erste Eindruck ist gut, aber wie immer macht Übung den Meister.Wer erwartet, innerhalb weniger Minuten perfekte Abbilder der gewünschten Modelle erstellen und ohne Weiterbearbeitung direkt drucken zu können, wird nicht nur bei diesem Scannermodell enttäuscht, sondern sollte sich im Vorfeld generell eingehender mit der Thematik befassen.Die Verwendung des Stativs sowie eines Drehtellers ist m.A.n. empfehlenswert, wenn das entspr. Modell dies zulässt.Ein Fotozelt könnte hilfreich sein, um einen gleichmäßigen Hintergrund zu erhalten - wobei der Hintergrund bei meinen Scans keinerlei Irritationen bei der automatischen Erkennung hervorrief.Leider mangelt es m.A.n. jedoch an der Möglichkeit, gewisse Bereiche zusätzlich zur automatischen Erfassung initial zu markieren, die während des Scanvorgangs berücksichtigt werden sollen. Ich habe bspw. einen ca. 20cm großen Holzdelfin mehrfach eingescannt, leider wurden sowohl die Nase als auch die Spitzen der Schwanzflosse nicht erfasst. Auch nach mehreren Versuchen war es mir nicht möglich, ein entspr. vollständiges Ergebnis zu erzielen. Dies mag jedoch auch meiner Unerfahrenheit und der noch mangelnden Übung geschuldet sein. Trotzdem wäre hier m.A.n. eine feinere Erfassung und ggf. weitergehende manuelle Auswahlfunktionen wünschenswert.Die mobile Nutzung mit einem Smartphone, die durch die Powerbankfunktion des Stativs mehrere Stunden Einsatz ermöglicht wird, scheint vielversprechend, es sollte jedoch im Vorfeld geprüft werden, ob das Smartphone die technischen Anforderungen erfüllt.Alles in Allem ist der Scanner ein handliches und leistungsfähiges Gerät.Insbesondere bei dieser Technologie steht und fällt die Leistungsfähigkeit jedoch mit der entspr. Software - hier scheint m.A.n. allerdings noch Verbesserungspotential vorhanden zu sein, um insbesondere der Zielgruppe der Einsteiger noch weiter entgegen zu kommen und die ersten Schritte auf diesem Gebiet noch erfolgreicher zu gestalten als es bereits der Fall ist.

I just purchased the ferret scanner and so far it has been going well! The tracking takes a little while to get the hang of but once you get it, it’s a useful tool. I found this was much easier to use without a rotating table to learn on so I suggest printing or purchasing one before using the first time but I have successfully modified and printed scans. The build quality is good and my only real complain right now is the lack of iPhone support.My first part was using a broken action figure and scanning the figure to remake and socket a new arm. After a few tries I was able to get a good technique on the scanning speed, after I fully scanned the object I than uploaded the scan as an OBJ file into blender. In blender I used the blend tool to smooth out some anomalies in the scan after I uploaded the cleaned up file into my CAD program and cloned the other scanned arm. I than 3D printed my part and was very happy with the results. There are many use cases for this tool

Even with this scanner, sometimes you have to scan over areas of objects multiple times in order to get an accurate 3D mesh. HIGHLY recommend if you are scanning smaller objects (12 inches or less) to get a turntable that you can rotate as you are scanning. I did not have one to test with this device at the time of this review, but on previously tested 3D scanners, this was a major game changer.Accuracy:Accurate representation of objects is crucial in 3D printing and modeling, and the CR-Scan Ferret delivers decent precision. It is fairly accurate for the price. I was able to capture intricate details of the scanned objects.
