With a low odor, this rust remover makes the perfect de-rusting essential for every household. Apply a thick coat of the rust gel on any surface after wiping or cleaning to remove grease, oil, dust particles and residues. Let the gel sit for at least 1 to 2 hours before rinsing it with water. Then wipe the de-rusted surface with a clean cloth. Repeat the same process to remove rust from heavily affected surfaces.

This product works great on any rusted surface. Sometimes you have to apply it twice

The original will always be the best, but this is nice for pieces such as a motorcycle frame. I restore vintage dirt bikes and soak every other piece in original Evaporust, then just use a brush with the gel on the frames and swing arms. Less odor than original Evaporust which is nice as well!

Does not mix. Was separated as a liquid and a white paste that did not squeeze out of he bottle. Perhaps old or expired product. The liquid counterpart is a good product. I wish I had returned the unused portion; however I discarded it.Update: Contacted Manufacturer. Manufacturer sending replacement product!Replacement product usable and works well. Outdated product has obviously hurt the review stats. Outdated product needs to be addressed.

Wish I could give this stuff NO STARS!I was fooled by the pic and didn't pay attention to 8oz in description. This is a TINY bottle, it's expensive AND it does not work! At least not for me.My bottle was NOT a gel. I shook the container well, opened it and poured some into a tray. It was clear like water, same viscosity also. Smells nasty. Then I shook it again it felt weird like something was still in the bottle. I sueezed it over the tray and this white glop began oozing out. It felt like soaked cotton. I literally pulled it out with my fingers, puzzled. This was NOT gel! Looked just like one of the review pictures. Was I supposed to pull this cotten out? What is this? Nothing on label about it.I had a couple lightly rusted Starrett tools. I put them in the liquid and covered them in the cotton goop. Left them soaking over 7 hours. They still have rust on them! I estimate it took off about 15%. The majority of the rust did not dissolve and their was not a lot of heavy rust. The tools were submerged.Have to try something else! This Evapo-Rust is:1. WAY WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get! Picture is misleading!2. GOOP or soaked cotton in bottle. IT IS NOT GEL you can apply with a brush! DOES NOT cling to vertical surfaces as stated. Mine was clear liquid that looked like water and smelled horrible.3. CRC I expected more from CRC.Didn't work for me! Will never buy again and I DO NOT recommend it. I'm leary of buying any other CRC product.

It applies easily and does an okay job removing surface rust, however in comparison to regular evaporust it doesn’t do as great a job of rust removal. Also, the shelf life of this stuff is really short. I’ve bought three bottles of this stuff and you can keep it unopened for a few months but after that it seems to decompose and goes from the proper consistency to basically an extremely cohesive jello that has almost no adhesive left to it. This also happens when you open the container and use it, it works great when it’s brand new but you can close it up keep it in a cool dry place within the specs and it has the same problem listed above in about 2 weeks if you don’t use it by then. Overall a good product if used right away but not a great product and it doesn’t last long

The Evapo Rust Gel performed just as advertised and did an excellent job of removing 13 years of rust off the steel wheels on my RAV4. I was looking for a product that I could apply to the wheels without removing them and that would improve the look of the wheels significantly. The Evapo Rust Gel seemed to fit the bill. I followed the instructions which include using a coarse sandpaper to remove loose surface rust where it was thickest. I applied the gel using a small paint brush. It went on easily and stayed on the vertical rusted surfaces as adevertised. You can see the results from the attached photos. Some other reviews said that the container was small for the price, but I was able to do all fouir wheels and have some left over. I also read reviews that said it was hard to apply, but using the paintbrush worked very well. Also, I saw some complaints about having to sand, but that step is clearly in the instructions and it is necessary. For heavily rusted areas, you need to sand first to get the best results. I didn't spend a lot of time sanding, just enough to gert the loose rust off. The Gel removed rust off more lightly rusted areas without any sanding. These wheels also had some very deeply rusted areas. While the Evapo Gel did not remove all the rust from these areas, it still made even those areas look much better. If I keep the car for a while, the rust will come back, but I will order this product again. It's money well spent.

I VERY rarely give 5 star reviews. Even on my favourite items. But his stuff is 6 out of 5. I have tried various rust removal methods, electrolysis, vinegar, citric acid and whilst they work they need otehr equipment or make a huge mess. This gel, whilst having the texture of a head cold nose blow works fantasticly. The sticky nature holds the gel where its needed, the makeup of the rust removal strips the rust away fast and 100%. Its truly amazing.I have seen this stuff on Youtube for some years (Hand tool rescue in particular) and i am so very glad its available in Europe now. Its not the cheapest but it works so very well.Im itching to try the liquid next!

Used this to remove a rusted area on my car wheel well where sanding and scraping was difficult. It took a bit longer than the instructions because it was a stubborn area. With some persistence it worked like a miracle! It restored the area to clean bare metal. Now I can repaint.
