An electrician working at my house strongly suggested I stop using petroleum jelly on light bulb threads when changing bulbs and use di-electric grease instead. I use this on all bulbs but particularly those in the garage, unfinished basement, bathrooms and outside fixtures where untreated bulb threads exposed to humidity are a challenge to unscrew without breaking the bulb. I get the small tubes so that I can keep them in the basement and garage where needed without spending a lot. I wish the small tubes had a twist off cap but it's not a big deal; I just keep them in a ziploc bag after cutting them open.

I think this was designed for automotive use, but it is wonderful for any electrical connection that you might have to take apart some day - for example a light bulb in a socket! In certain humidity and with certain times of metal, corrosion will cause you to break the bulb every time you try to change it. A little CRC and the connection is always good while the "disconnection" is perfect!

Tried this after breaking so many bulbs trying to change them. Great Product....no more bulbs broke off in fixture. Will definitely buy again.
