Looks and feels good, but the process of it binding with glue to board is a nightmare

While the front of the material feels very nice and good quality for the price, it is SO difficult to work with when assembling a hard cover case for a book. The backing is like felt, so you need a TON of PVA glue, and not only that but the glue doesn't dry in the same way so you have to physically hold the material down while it glues. Normally I can glue an entire hard cover case in an hour or so with drying time, with this product I have to glue one side and then press it down with books for 30 mins or so until it dries. I probably would not purchase again for book binding.

Synthetic leather is always hit or miss. I requested this to use as bible endsheet material.This synthetic leather roll offers a premium feel for PU leather. The texture is soft to the touch, avoiding the plasticky feel often associated with faux materials. While it doesn't perfectly mimic high-end leather, it's far from cheap-feeling.The material is consistent throughout, with no noticeable flaws or weak spots. It cuts cleanly and takes well to various adhesives (mainly on the underside), making it versatile.This synthetic leather is worth considering for your bookbinding needs. Don't expect genuine leather longevity but for practice this would be a great choice.

While it's not real leather, it has a nice and soft feel to it and it's nice and thick so I'm not too worried about it ripping or falling apart. It doesn't have the leather 'look" with cracks or anything (maybe that'll come with age?), but it has a really great soft texture to it and a "felt-ish" backing, so it should hold to the glue pretty well. I do wish that it was a bit taller, because only being 11.8" tall means the books i can make with it are going to have to be pretty short. Should still be great for some nice little notebooks, though!
