Easy to assemble and use. Simply install it on the harmonic balancer for Subaru Outback, combined with the tight ratchet, socket and an excessively long pipe on the ratchet was able to remove the harmonic balancer easily.

The camshaft calibration fixture is specifically designed to align the camshafts for the 2.0L and 2.5L DOHC turbine engines during the timing belt, cylinder head or other front engine service tasks for Subaru.
The tool locks the position of the left camshaft and prevents the cam sprockets from spinning to avoid catastrophic damage to the piston in contact with the valve when the timing belt is removed.

I had to bend the handles in a little for a better angle of pressure on the AVCS cam sprockets. It doesn’t take much to bend it, and it can prevent damage to the cams or other mishaps.

Welds did not penetrate at all in some areas and could slide a piece of paper right under the weld. Other welds were too thick and wouldn’t allow tool to slide into gear like it should so it couldn’t be used. Sure I could grind them down or reweld but for this kind of money I can buy better.

These did the job, but they fit pretty loose on the sprockets. You almost need two people (with one that doesn't mind possibly smashing a finger). If you don't hold them onto the sprocket they will slip off potentially causing you to smash some valves in the process.

Worked perfect to getting the cam gears off. After reading reviews on this, i was worried i'd get one from a bad batch. Luckily, it fit perfect and got the job done, the bolts were so tight i had to use cheater bars on both the tool and the breaker bar. I thought for sure id break the welds off these, but they held up fine.

The 3 VVT gear lobes are not symmetrical, so the wrench only fits the gear one way. You may need to turn the cam in order to use the tool.
