About this item

  • E-NE MATTE BLACK BELL: The Crane E-ne is a compact bell that can be positioned on top of the handlebar like other bells or in front of the bar for a more aero, less visible profile. Fits 22.2-31.8mm OD bars. The MATTE BLACK model has an aluminum dome with a matte black finish.
  • BEAUTIFUL, RESONANT SOUND: Brass or aluminum alloy dome-shaped bell for a bright and pleasant ring. The ring of a brass bell resonates longer vs other materials. Crane Bell knows the pleasantness of the ring should come second to safety and loudness, but we choose to make BOTH a priority.
  • PREMIUM JAPANESE BELL: Crane Bell Co. Ltd is bringing beautiful Japanese craftsmanship to your bike! We didn’t compromise quality on any part of this bell. Our bicycle bells are truly unique and for bikers who care about the little things. Rust-resistant stainless steel mount and springs. No plastic parts.
  • VERSATILE, UNIVERSAL, COMPACT DESIGN: Can be positioned up on top of the bars or in front of the bars for a more aero, less noticeable profile. Takes up very little real estate, so you can fit other accessories like a bike light, phone or GPS. This bicycle bell looks equally at home on stylish city bikes, carbon fiber road bikes, and mountain bikes. Smaller, more aesthetically pleasing to the ears than a bike horn.
  • EASY, SCRATCH-FREE INSTALLATION FOR ALL HANDLEBARS: Installs with one hex key. The stainless steel mounting strap micro-adjusts to fit diameters from 22.2mm to 31.8mm. Fits mountain bikes, road bikes, kid’s bikes, and e-bikes. The stainless steel mount is dipped in vinyl so protect your handlebars from being scratched and to reduce slipping.

Crane Bell E-Ne –Brushed Copper
Like a popular U.S.-made bell, the E-ne is positionable on top of the bar or in front of the bar. Its aesthetic is a little more rustic than slick, but it looks great and sounds great.

  • Fits 22.2-31.8mm bars
  • Brass is more resonant. Alloy is more tarnish-resistant.
  • Made in Japan

I've had a Spurcycle bell on my road bike for years and its clear, bright sustaining tone always brings a smile to my face (and seems to keep me safer too). I decided to try the E-ne bell mainly because I couldn't justify spending $60-70 for another Spurcycle, this time for my gravel bike (and I really wanted the $70 black version).Aside from the E-ne being noticeably bigger (but not obnoxiously so) I think I like it better than the Spurcycle. It's tone is just as clear & loud and almost as sustaining as the Spurcycle, but it's pitch is somewhat lower which I think makes it easier to hear (especially by those who've had some high-frequency hearing loss) and/or is more-quickly perceived as a bike bell vs. something else. The other positives of the E-ne vs. the Spurcycle are: 1) A wider variety of finishes, 2) The metal band is vinyl-coated (I added some heat-shrink tubing to the band on my Spurcycle so that it doesn't mar my handlebar finish), 3) The vinyl-coated "feet" on the underside of the bell's dome works better than the rubber shim on the Spurcycle which tends to move out of place when tightening it down, 4) The hammer has a lighter touch & its solid shape works better with my thumb vs. the Spurcycle's "paper clip" shaped hammer, and 5) Oh yeah it costs about 50% less!

Well made and great looking. The thing I appreciate the most is the tone of the ring. Its reasonably loud and last a few seconds, unlike others ive used. It is a little pricey though.

Bell fits a larger handle bar width (see pic) on drop bars. Sound is quite loud and better than a Spurcycle bell (if you are familiar with that brand). I ring this bell and everyone jumps out of the way.

I was looking for a unique bell for my new e-bike, something aesthetically pleasing and with a nice sound. I happened to come across this bell, and I was immediately struck by the beauty of the copper bell. I'd say the audio recordings of the sound are accurate. The bell has a nice clear, ringing tone, but something (maybe the clapper or mount) causes a little distortion. Weirdly, my husband's much cheaper Aventon bell has a similar tone (slightly higher), and cleaner ring, but it does have plastic parts and is all black. I'm keeping mine because of the distinctive look, and still nice-sounding tone. Super easy to install and fits really well in the small space I have on my handlebars. I was able to tilt it forward so it doesn't cover my gear indicators and still in easy reach of my thumb.NOTE: I found the packaging to be really bizarre. I had to completely rip apart the cardboard to get the bell out of the package (definitely not an Apple-like, easy-open box). The black loop you see on the bottom is NOT a fastener (I almost tried to cut it); it's the mounting strap for the bell itself, and comes out by removing the cardboard spacer, squeezing the loop to disengage the hooks, and pulling it out of the bell.

The bell has a great tone and depending on how hard you choose to depress the striker lever you can vary from fairly soft to loud enough to easily be heard quite far ahead of you.The workmanship is excellent and the unit is a treat to own.

A nice simple bell with a fantastic clear ring. Made in Japan, not china. Feels like money but doesn't break the bank. Clean black color, relatively easy to install. The cheap chinese bells suck. Don't use them, just get this and it should last your life. The nature of how materials work tells me the black probably won't stay dark for eternity, but it's held up on a beater bike for well over a year, so I can't imagine any problems occurring if someone is buying this for looks on a ride they keep pristine.

I was looking for a bell to go with our new Ebikes. Top of my list is the Spurcycle and honestly if money was no object, it would be my first choice but I just can't justify spending $70 on a bike bell. I took a look at some discount bells and a knock-off... none of them measured up. I still sort of want a Spurcycle but this is an excellent compromise at half the price. I purchased the copper bell for myself and my wife picked the flat black bell. They both sound very nice but the copper bell has a bit higher pitch and sounds clearer to my ear. Both mount the same way - a metal strap and a small hex screw. If you don't have a hex wrench, that's an issue. I think they should have included one. But if you do have a standard bike wrench set, it's an easy mount. It looks fantastic and sounds great. .

This bell is as beautiful as it is loud. I purchased this bell to combat the droves of tweens, playing Pokemon Go, in the park. All of a sudden, my favorite bike path is littered with mindless idiots, face down, on their phones. When buying a bike bell, you basically have three options; silly child's "ring ring", this lovely and resonant "Diiiing", or big trucker airhorn. At first I was skeptical about the other reviews, praising this bell for its beautiful musical resonance, but it's absolutely true. It's loud without being harsh, and distinctive enough that it gets attention from all but the most hopeless of humans. The size is also perfect for handlebar mounting, and allows you to position the bell close enough to your grips so your thumb will always be "on-the-ready".Sure, $30 is a lot to spend on a bike bell, but I can assure you, it's worth it. The copper finish is gorgeous, and the spring on the dinger (technical term) is strong enough that the bell will not ding unless summoned upon. If you care about quality, looks, and want a bell with a clear and authoritative tone, buy the Crane E-ne.
