This is an attractive, well-constructed chime. It is quite loud, which allows us to hear it from the basement to the upper floor. Installation was a breeze (it’s not rocket science- just two wires to connect).

Can't rate 5 stars as the item came broken. I was able to take apart and repair it.

I installed one of these for my mother years ago and just did the same at my new house. It has a beautiful tones that chimes forever. Very loud, not "tinny" or "clinky", just a nice traditional chime. The price is extremely reasonable for what it is. The case is a little bland and basic, but who needs to draw attention to that with such a beautiful tone? I reccomend this to everyone, whether they're looking to replace one or not.

I didnt' want to stick up a white plastic box in our home. This is attractive with a clear easily heard ring. Not electric sounding, but a nice bell sound.

I needed to replace a broken chime in my hallway. ( I could never hear when someone rang the dang bell !)I read many reviews and compared the sizes and generally felt like I was over studying the issue a bit ….I mean, it IS JUST a doorbell, right ?Some Sounds/Tones really bother me, so I WAS over thinking it a bit …. ( I’m a migraine sufferer & get them every week, so it’s the little things, ya know ..?)I wanted something nicer than a plain plastic box to replace my plain plastic box….Some reviews said others were too loud, some too soft, some too tinny, some too “electronic” sounding. I settled on this one. I was a bit worried at first that it would be too big for the spot. But my old one was so far up towards the ceiling that this one just ended up being perfect. This one comes in several finishes and seems like the sound was the same on all the options. I chose the one that most closely matched my decor & STILL worried about how it would look …. I was afraid that it being dark on my creamy walls would look like a big ugly blob sitting up there. But it doesn’t …It looks like a nice inexpensive upgrade to my wall …. Kinda like new switch plates or something. I noticed it for the first couple days just because it was so different, but now I don’t even notice it anymore. The only person who has noticed it’s different is my sweet momma who said “oh, I like your new doorbell…” as she passed by it the first time ….EXACTLY the reaction I’d hoped for …. If you notice it, it’s just for a split second.I actually really like the sound of this doorbell. It’s a nice even toned older sounding bell, NOT tinny OR electronic …. Just a nice, not too loud tone that doesn’t hurt my head. I was actually a bit startled the first couple times it rang … it had been so long since I’d had a functioning one !! 😂

Beautiful design, well built. The plastic cover is, well, plastic, but once assembled it looks fine. Having plastic, not metal, also lessens the weight, which is not a bad thing. In my case, unfortunately, my circa '70s door bell wiring was not compatible with this unit, so I had to return.

Update, after 6 weeks, I noticed the doorbell was not ringing. I opened up the cover and noticed that the chime mechanism is totally jammed up (the spring is caught up in the plunger housing). That renders this beautiful doorbell completely useless. Replacements for the chime mechanism cost over $30. Yikes. What a waste of money. At least it looks good on the wall.-------------------------------------------------Original review:This is a beautiful doorbell. Its appearance is a huge upgrade of the white with brass version that we had before. The reason I gave it 3-stars is because it showed up with a serious defect: the spring that controls the plunger for the bell was dislodged and didn't cause the plunger to reset to it's normal position, preventing the "dong" in "ding dong" from even working. I was able to fix this with a pair of needle nose pliers and some help from my wife but the product shouldn't show up already broken.Other than the spring issue, it's working fine so far.
