I bought one of these. The first time I tried to open it, the telescoping sections separated completely. Obviously this is not safe to use, so I returned it immediately. It's a good thing I didn't actually climb on the ladder when this happened@

I JUST GOT IT TODAY, and when slowly extending it, it CAME APART. I probably had 4 more rungs at the bottom until it fully extended, but the haudraulic tubes just separated. It was repeatable all times. I watched plenty of videos and there was no warning about this happening. I'm just going to assume this one was faulty and have sent for a replacement right away. Make sure you check it right away before return periods expireEDIT: The replacement works as intended! It's pretty sturdy, but I'm pretty light (130lbs). I never had to go the max height but halfway up felt safe. You gotta make sure all the colored tabs are GREEN before you get up. One of them was red, but looked like it was fully extended, but the moment I got up, it started to close where it was red. More user error than fault of the device.

Nice design but unsafe because defective. The bottom right indicator should turn green when ladder is extended like the one shown on the left. It stayed red indicating it was not engaged properly even after six tries. Had to send back. Tried to get an exchange but got a message from Amazon "whoops something went wrong". Ordered a different brand. This is my third try. Can only hope for better quality control.

I have a roofing business. I have used so many different telescoping ladders. I love them! . I was excited about this one from cosco. The first time I extended it, one spot would not lock in. That same spot won't collapse when closing, it just gets stuck and I can't collapse the ladder. Bad design or a got a bad one. Either way, I'm out the money and a safe ladder. It's definitely not safe to use. Sad
