Whether or not this saw is a good purchase is going to depend a lot on a couple of things: how often you use it, and; how important accuracy is for your cuts. As far as battery powered jigsaws go, this is pretty reasonably priced for what it offers, especially if you already have batteries for it.What it offers is decent cutting speed, some basic and some advanced adjustments, and a useful light. Where it falls down is in comparison to some plug-in models that cost about 50% more and battery models that are more than twice the price.What the more expensive models will get you is much less vibration and a much faster blade stroke. Both of these impact accuracy and cut quality. They also make using a jigsaw less tiring.There are a couple of things about this saw that need improvement. The plastic cover for the base, which is used to protect smooth surfaces, is very difficult to remove. As in you almost have to break it to remove it. It isn't going to last very often if you're taking it off. There is a cover over the blade lock. You have to remove it to change blades. It's made of cheap plastic and it's going to break quickly. The saw will still be perfectly usable without it, but it'll be disappointing. The blade lock is a bit finicky, it's an older design that is difficult to manipulate if you have big fingers. The base plate is adjustable but you need tools to make changes and it doesn't seem to have positive locks for specific angles, another older design.So, if you use a jigsaw every couple of years to make things like straight-edge, 90 degree, notches and you have the batteries already then this is a solid choice. If you're reaching for your jigsaw often and you're making curved cuts then you should probably invest in something higher end.

Feels a bit large and not as robust as name brands but i'm used to using a 12v barrel, most will prefer the larger battery and d ring handle like this one has. It has a light which i wish some of my others had. Really hard to see cut lines sometimes without a built in led light like this one has. Overall this is a fine basic jigsaw that will surely give you a long life, it will lack in some ergonomics and construction but nothing major for home owner use. This review is for Cordless Jig Saw for Dewalt 20V Battery,0-45° Bevel Cuts,Brushless Jigsaw Tool with Variable Speed LED Lighting, 3 Position Orbital Action for Straight/Curved/Circular Cutting (Battery Not Included).The good: My DW and Fake DW batteries fit it. It cuts with the blades it came with.The bad: The show plate is warped front to back, so it rocks when you use it. The plastic plate: two very small tabs hold it on, and they look like they'll break with not much pressure. I'm afraid to remove it. I tried some DeWalt brand blades in it, and it was 50/50 as to whether the collet would lock around the blade or not. It did not come with the allen wrench required to remove or adjust the foot plate. The blades will not go in when the oscillating lever is in anything but the upright position.My assessment is that it's not worth the money. The warped shoe plate alone makes it hard to cut straight with. Not recommended.

I'm not sure why this isn't a name brand. It works as well or better than my DeWalt jigsaw. Brighter yellow and brighter work light than name brand. Highly recommended.

works okay, just be aware this does not come with any kind of a battery. so if you don't already have batteries, you'll need to buy those as well.

The tool out of the box works ok for basic jigsaw cutting but there are some issues....There was no hex wrench included to adjust foot plate for bevel cutting...instruction diagram shows hex wrench in a holder on foot plate but neither wrench or its foot plate 'holder' was present also the fact that adjusting foot plate for bevel cutting requires a hex wrench makes it more difficult that other jigsaws in which the foot plate angle is adjustable without additional tools. The instructions also show a splinter 'preventer' that can be attached near the blade on the foot plate But that device also was not included. The foot plate has a removable plastic base that is used so that delicate surfaces are not marred but I could not remove the plastic plate as show on instructions...I saw that there were two tabs to be pressed to remove the plate but using a great amount of thumb pressure had no effect and I was reluctant to use pliers or pry the tabs for fear they would break as the tabs looked made of a subpar plastic prone to breakage....the case and especially the clear plastic blade shield also seemed to be made of a lesser quality plastic....the clear plastic blade shield needs to be depressed to release the locking tabs and those tabs in my experienced opinion would soon break off...also the clear plastic blade shield seemed to be made of inferior and troublesome polystyrene which is used in low quality items. There was an included Phillips head screwdriver which serve no purpose whatsoever since all the assembling screws are a 'star or hex' type. The so-called quick blade release is difficult to access with the fingers and to some with large fingers may require to be moved open with a flat screwdriver blade to facilitate inserting/removing blades, the metal shoe of the footplate and its associated bracing components which attach it to the plastic body of the tool are made minimally adequate zinc plated metal stampings that is thinner and less robust than that of other higher quality tools.....Other than the aforementioned issues for just making basic straight or curved jigsaw cuts the tool worked pretty well and will be handy for me because of its cordless portability to use cutting light weight materials in everyday projects.The plastic shroud/shield next to the blade insertion point was difficult to remove and insert and had weak brittle plastic tabs to hold it in place ....the tabs broke off on third removal, fortunately the shroud is not necessary for the tool to function.
