Seemed like a lightweight when I opened it as I needed it to help clear some brush and smallish mesquite trees on our property. Put the blade on and holy moly, it did the trick. It sliced through all kinds of brush and bramble. It’s actually kind of fun. Be very careful with it as it doesn’t look extremely safe for a casual user. It does come with two batteries which is nice and they last a good while. Lots of nice attachments. It telescopes in and out for comfortable use and compact traveling size.

I am using this brush cutter to clear overgrown grass (about 5 ft tall) on my property. The brush cutter handles grass and weeds with about 1/2 in stems, like scotch broom. You have to use some finesse, i.e., the weed wacker is not a beast, have to go at a reasonable pace, swinging the blade back and forth to cut through the weeds a "row" at a time. If you are too aggressive, the grass gets wrapped around the hub and the cutter stalls, although it is easy to clear the blade and resume cutting. Having a rake at hand to rake away the fallen vegetation at intervals is essential so the blade doesn't get tangled. Two batteries are essential since each one lasts about half an hour. The trigger is a bit stiff and hard to squeeze for more than a few minutes at a time, but I am a senior woman with small hands--likely this would not be an issue for a man. The batteries took about an hour to charge and the charging cord can only charge one at a time. The adjustable handle length and angle of the blade head are great for customizing to individual user and terrain, i.e., hillside. The blade is wicked sharp and takes about a minute to stop spinning after you take your finger off the trigger so mindful use is essential.

This will be my first EVER product review on Amazon. I strongly believe this has been the BEST tool purchase I have made in YEARS. No one is asking me to write a good review. I was not paid or sent a free product from this company. After searching for years for a new trimmer. I finally stumbled upon this one. I wholeheartedly believe this is truly an amazing product! It works right out of the box. The batteries were charged and my mom is outside doing yardwork. This product will help us keep our yard clean the remainder of spring well into Summer. I love this product and it will help us take care of our yard for years to come.

This tool has a manufactures defect. It is designed so that the nut that locks the saw blade to the shaft unscrews itself while the tool is in use. This will cause the nut to fall off and the saw blade will fly off. My daughter ankle was almost seriously sliced when the saw blade flew off while she was cutting johnson grass. This is why their add stresses use of protective footwear but they don't tell you the thing will come apart while in use!

This is an excellent tool. I read some of the reviews that said this tool is made like a toy or doesn't work well. After more than 25 hours of use, I would respectfully disagree with that assessment. Like many tools, using a good basic technique is key to great results.First, a disclaimer - I've used only the "saw blade" attachment for my application, so I'm not sure how the plastic trimmers would fare. This circular blade is designed to work with centrifugal force (it spins very easily and will spin a long time after you release the trigger). That being said, you need to trim in such a manner as to allow the blade to spin "at speed" to work effectively, using successive light, side-to-side passes to eat into the path you are clearing. If you push too aggressively, the blade will bog down and become ineffective. If you follow that method, you can attack fairly heavy growths of weeds or thicket. I recently cleared a 500' shoreline that including all kinds of vegetation, including a ton of willow saplings (up to 1/2") with only a little more than 1 battery charge (two batteries are included). For those who say it's a "toy", while it's true that the tool is quite light, I would conclude its light weight is super helpful in reducing fatigue for long trimming sessions. "Feather weight" and "toy" are not the same.Take it from a tool guy. If you use this correctly it will do a ton of work for you. If you manhandle it and jam it like an axe into whatever you're cutting, it will not! It's a centrifugal trimmer, not a chainsaw. It's certainly not perfect. For instance, the detent meant to hold the shaft at the right length and orientation is not positive enough, and more often than I would like, I find myself needing to reposition it after getting bumped off direction. I've been thinking of permanently fixing it in the position I use it. A small annoyance. Also, I think the manufacturer would save untold frustration for users if they would include a good set of instructions for use.

It is very light and easy to use, but the power is lacking. Using the saw blade, it doesn't saw completely through, example of Kudzu vines shouldn't have been a problem; but it would stop the blade. Even moreso for plants with any thickness of an inch or more. It does trim the grass well enough, just lacks enough power for other more intense tasks. It was a purchase that I wanted to see if it does the job...barely I'd say. The battery and motor are not suited for the claims of sawing through limbs, etc. I had to have the saw at full speed and drive it into the branches, it would stop and I would have to repeat the process to get it to cut it off. Disappointed. I like that it's portable with a battery, just doesn't complete the tasks it says it does.
