This does a better job for me than using beads. It does not come with a threader, so I used the fine plastic line (like fishing line or plastic that hangs off many purchases). Just thread a loop of the elastic onto the plastic line, fold over the line and pulling the ends together thru the bead. Voila!

They work pretty well. You can just use a hobby pin and get the elastic through.
