Parents 2010 Mazda 3 had a coolant leak that ended up draining the entire coolant reservoir so I knew there was a massive leak. I'm a mechanic by trade so I had a coolant pressure tester with the right screw on cap adapter to hook up to the coolant reservoir and began pumping pressure to see/hear the leak in the closed system. Saw the bubbling on the driver side of the engine on the cylinder head. Had to remove complete air box assembly and intake hose for adequate room to work, was not an easy job but not take it to a shop bad.Long story short, matched up new part to old oem on, can not tell the difference. Excellent replacement and work perfectly.

Not an easy part to get to. Lots of hoses in the way. Deep well socket and 3/8" to 1/4" adapter on the end of a ratchet was perfect length to take the bolts out without removing the battery box. Tight fit though. Took about 2 hours to replace. Installed on the car for 2 weeks now and no leaks.

Our mazda5 at around 167k miles developed a sudden leak and started to overheat my wife smartly stoped at a gas station,,I brought a couple gallons of water,,it was real low so I added over a gallon and filled it up,,when it got to the top a stream of water was coming down on driver side of engine I put on the cap and squeezed the upper hose and saw the liquid leak behind this part, it made it home about 3 miles without overheat but about 1/2 gallon loss,,what happens to this part is it cracks where the o ring seal is where it bolts on to the cylinder head,,u need some good tools and it is a hard part to replace I used Tape to hold the bolts to re install them,,job took me about 2 hours,,problems solved for less then 40 dollars with new antifreeze after making sure with water alone the leak was gone,,good luck it's a job y'all

This part, without sensor, is $112.00 at a local auto parts store. I was happy to find it here with the sensor for $25.00. Spent another $30.00 on a couple of tools needed for the job and saved $500.00 changing this part myself. Perfect fit on my 2011 Mazda 3.

Seems flimsy, but that's because the original part in the car is made of plastic, so it's not this part's fault.I bought the part but, because of it's location, had my mechanic put it in/on. It's been working with no problem for the last 8 months. So far, so good...
