Continental Elite Accu-Drive Tensioner Assemblies are designed to meet or exceed OEM fit and performance. This assembly increases belt life, because the belt maintains ideal tension as it wears. Features round, torsion-spring technology instead of a flat-spring due to inherent corrosion protection.

This review is for the 49220 kit, which includes what you see here (tensioner and pulley) plus idler pulley and new belt. I would not buy any of this if I knew then what I know now. The biggest issue is that if you have already purchased one of those extra long serpentine belt wrench sets as I have, you might find that you don't have a large enough crowsfoot wrench to fit the tensioner bolt on this thing! I was able to get my existing belt off with my original tensioner, but once I switched to this Continental unit, none of the crowsfeet in my set would fit! Come on, why didn't they stick with original bolt sizes... is it really that difficult?!? The other issue was with the tensioner itself. It uses one of those pretty much auto only Torx fittings. On my original, it was a Torx T47, but this thing uses a T50! Not a big deal if you already have a set that fits, but I special ordered the Torx ahead of time and then was left with nothing to install this new part! As far as the fitting of the new parts, everything was ok there, but I think it's of cheaper quality than my original Ford parts. I also checked and then double checked with venders ahead of time to make sure this would fit because I kept running into conflicting information. Get a return policy to be sure in case their little Java calculators are wrong (yup, it does happen).
