This little beauty holds a ton of water and pigment, yet has a super-fine tip. I can’t imagine a more perfect detail brush for watercolor!

I have been an avid watercolor artist since 2016. In that time, I have purchased many brushes, which has allowed me to experiment with so many different strokes and movements in my work. I originally saw this brush used by a loose watercolor artist in a Daniel Smith interview. I cannot access her name right now, but she was using this particular brush, and it spoke to me. I received it about about a month and a half ago, and this brush has been like magic to my work. Although it is a rigger, because of its bell shape, it holds so much water and pigment. This really allows me to have some fun near the end of the painting with linework, expressive lines and touches. I love it so much that I have ordered the #8 as well. It is currently in shipping. The vendor was prompt in sending it, tracking was clear, and that was why I did not hesitate to order from them a second time. I am very, very happy with this product and the vendor's care. The brush arrived well protected in a box. Very happy artist here.

I think the bristles were damaged in shipping (there was no protective sleeve). Plus they were very soft. I don't think it would function well as a dagger brush. I will be returning it.

I learned about this brush brand from the artist and author Cathy Johnson and I’m so glad I tried it. The brush lays down watercolor paint evenly. You won’t get a blob of extra paint where you pick up your brush like other brushes in this price range do.It has the perfect blend of synthetic and natural hair. The squirrel tail hair enables the brush to hold a lot of water so you can paint longer with it compared to synthetic brushes. The synthetic hairs prevent the brush from picking up too much water. When I use 100% squirrel brushes, sometimes my colors look diluted because I pick up too much water with the brush. This brush, on the other hand, has the perfect mix of bristles. The cat’s tongue shape is really fun to paint with, especially if you’re painting with a loose style.

I’ve used this 1/2” cat’s tongue brush on a painting I’ve only just begun. I find I can use this one brush for large passages as well as the tiny details. It holds lots of water and so far it’s keeping that sharp point. No hair loss so far. I’m loving this brush!
