As I turned 60 I struggled to get up on my smaller slalom so I bought this and was able to pop up on the first pull. Bonus points for how well it handles cuts.

When I was a child my family skied for one week every summer and I loved it. Somewhere in my thirties I pretty much gave it up as my parents sold their boat. When I turned 46, I tried skiing again, hoping to show my five year old son what his big daddy can do. Unfortunately, it took me way too many tries and my arms were like rubber once I finally got up. Last week my younger brother (6'5" age 48 versus my 6'2" age 50) invited my family to go boating. This time I wanted to really ski so I started to research my options. I found one big ski for skiers over 125 pounds and one really big ski for skiers over 220... Since I weigh slightly over 220 I decided to give the Big Daddy a try. It took only two tries to get up! ;-) The first one was pretty much me getting used to the pull of a boat again and the second one was a gift from the big daddy. My brother and I both had our excuses ready in case we couldn't get up but thanks to the Big Daddy we both got and enjoyed the thrill of skiing again. FYI, I clock in at roughly 222 and my `little' brother clocks in around 280. I was able to comfortably ski around 28 to 30 mph but he took it up over 40 and his only complaint was that it got a bit squirrely at the higher speeds. A few pics will be posted above if I'm able to figure out how to do that.Note: I looked everywhere but did not find size information. I wear a size 13 medium width and wanted to make sure my foot would fit in this ski. This ski appears to be adjustable from about a size 10 to a size 13 but was a little snug on my brother who wears a size 13 EEE.

Bought this ski for my dad who had gained a few extra pounds last year and was having a hard time getting up on his old ski. First time out of the water popped out like he was 20 years younger and 50lbs lighter. The ski is remarkably light and still cuts extremely well. I even tried it and was impressed on how well it handled for its size. Would also be great for a beginner as well because its remarkably more stable than most other skis. Definitely recommend this ski!

The slalom ski works great for a 200+ guy. He loves being on the water every morning before work because it starts off his day on the right foot! This was a terrific buy for a gift.
