The anchor is made from Carbon Steel, and is Zinc Plated. This anchor is designed for use in Concrete, Block, and Brick.
Environment
The anchor is designed for use in a Dry environment.
Head Style
The anchor is a Hex head and is designed to allow the head to sit on top of the surface of the item being attached.
Hole Diameter/Bit Diameter
The anchor requires a 1/2" hole to be drilled in the base material (Concrete, Block, and Brick). The hole should be drilled with carbide tipped bit that meets ANSI standards and used in a hammer drill.
Diameter of Anchor
The diameter of the anchor is 1/2".
Length Anchor
The length of the anchor is 6"
Minimum Embedment
The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 1-1/2". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 1-1/2" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete.
Maximum Fixture Thickness
The maximum fixture thickness or the maximum thickness of the material being fastened for a anchor is 4-1/2". This will ensure that the minimum embedment of 1-1/2" will be met.
Fixture Hole Diameter
The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The 1/2" diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 5/8".
Spacing between Anchors
Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 5" from each other when measured center to center.
Edge Distance
It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 2-1/2" from an unsupported edge of the concrete.

I've used all sorts of concrete fastners and these have to be the most finicky. The reason is they have 2 sleeves and one of the has a open seam and when you tighten them down it flares out around the other sleeve before it's tight. if it was one PCs sleeve it would work better.

I was replacing vast heavy redwood inserts on a wonderful old solid concrete block wall built in the 1950's. These redwood inserts were at end of life due to age. Wanted to maintain look, feel, and durability of the original concrete wall and the redwood inserts . Had no idea what kind of anchors were used (or would be used) by original (1950) builders until the original redwood inserts were removed/demolished, but wanted to make sure the replacement anchors would meet the holding specifications of original concrete anchors. These anchors definitely exceeded the specifications of original anchors used to hold the redwood inserts.While demolishing and replacing the old redwood inserts, I couldn't help but think about the men who crafted the original wall and what they would think of the replacement job I did. I think they would have picked up one of these anchors, looked it over, and done a whistle of admiration at the capabilities of these fine anchors.5 stars.

I can only assume the packaging is to blame but the overall quality control is not good. Of the 15 anchors, only 5 had a all of the required hardware. I will have to go out to buy two nuts and 10 washers in order to use these anchors. The manufacturer needs to do a better job packaging these before shipping. The five washers I did receive were recovered from the shipping bag and not the product box. Be prepared to buy extra parts.
